Vlog 1: #Kumamoto (5 days, 4 nights) As promised, I will share the flight and transportation routes for those of you who may visit Kumamoto, Japan! 🐻
First and foremost, there is no direct flight from HKG to Kumamoto, so you must travel by airplane to the Fukuoka airport. The total travel time should be approximately 2.5-3hrs from the Fukuoka airport. Once you have arrived, you have a few public transport options to get to Kumamoto Station. (Most straightforward: by direct bus, you can book at the bus counter; a cheaper option: by local bus route outside the glass doors, take the bus to Hakata station, then look for the JR and Shinkansen section, get on the Sakura Shinkansen route to Kumamoto city). Depending on where your hotel is, you must take another bus to get to the hotel. Buses will be located outside the Kumamoto Station on the main street open area. A good tip if you do get lost, you can depend on your iphone map app to navigate, otherwise bringing a friend who can speak Japanese and/or reads chinese kanji characters would be very helpful! #thatswhatididformom 🌻
The downtown and shopping areas of Kumamoto city are quite close to each other (all around the Kumamoto Castle). We went to the local crafts center, #katoshrine , #SuizenjiJojuen Gardens, #KumamotoMuseum , #KumamotoCastle renovation site, #SakuraNoBaba , the long shopping streets in the city this time. If you want to see the castle, unfortunately the restoration from the 2016 earthquake will not be fully repaired until 2038. But you will still be able to spot it from far away or directly under the towers. Lastly, if you are a Kumamon fan like us, honestly they are everywhere! This mascot is the face of Kumamoto and there are souvenirs of his face in every store! Haha anyways, my next post will talk about #KurokawaOnsen , so stay tuned! 🐻🐻

#timefortaiwan
Here is Taiwan’s Mount Fuji
Taiwan’s Amazon River
And even Taiwan’s Sahara Desert
Today we’re going to Tainan, to see some really unique sights!
2016-2017 Episode 32 99 Taijiang Route/
Several hundred years ago, Taijiang National Park, located on Taiwan’s southwestern coast, was an inland sea. Sedimentation later formed natural tidal flats, which helped create the park’s unique ecology.
During the winter months, the park becomes a nesting area for a variety of migratory birds. Its most famous seasonal resident is the black-faced spoonbill.
The black-faced spoonbill is listed as an endangered species, and there are fewer than 3,000 of them on earth. The bird’s most popular winter nesting grounds are in the area around Taijiang.
As the weather gets warmer, most of them fly back north. I saw hundred something today. Pretty good luck!
There’s another popular attraction in Taijiang National Park. No matter what season it is, all you have to do is buy a boat ticket and wait in line for a bit to get a glimpse.
What’s interesting about this raft is that there’s no seats. I’m sitting on a stool. It’s really Taiwanese-style!
This was Taiwan’s first ever canal. When it was first built over a century ago, the canal mainly served as a transport link between Tainan’s Cigu and Sicao districts. Later, it filled up with silt and was abandoned. Without human interference, the mangrove swamps on both sides of the canal kept growing. That’s why it looks like a green tunnel today!
It’s so beautiful…like going back to nature…no wonder people say this is the Amazon River of Taiwan.
If the weather’s clear, the light coming through the branches at the end of the canal is reflected in an olive shape that some call the “angel’s kiss.” Others call it the “green eye.” Whatever you want to call it, taking a photo here is a must!
I’m going hiking now. What’s cool about this mountain is that it’s on flat land. Look! Doesn’t it look like if Mount Fuji was covered in snow all year round?
Cigu used to be the home of Taiwan’s largest salt fields. Now, this salt mountain has become the area’s biggest tourist attraction.
There’s not much snow in Taiwan. But here it’s looks even more real , If you put on sunglasses!
It’s estimated that the six-story-high salt mountain is made up of 39,000 tons of salt, worth up to NT$140 million. That figure alone is enough to put off imitators, and so it’s no wonder that the salt mountain is one-of-a-kind.
The last spot, is Taiwan’s Sahara Desert.
On the northern bank of the mouth of the Zengwun River, strong northeasterly winds in winter whip up big sandstorms. Years of accumulation have formed a desert several kilometers long. It's a whole other type of feeling walking in the sand dunes around dusk, with only sand as far as you can see.
Taiwan Tour Bus brought me on an unforgettable trip. If you have the chance, you should definitely check it out yourself! I am Poyu Lin, enjoy your time in Taiwan! Ciao~see you next time.

Join me on the Taiwan Shuttle Bus Southwest Coast Route for a trip full of surprises!
2016-2017 Episode 30 Southwest Coast Route/
I’m in Chiayi!
This is where the world’s biggest high heels are!
And it’s also where Taiwan’s freshest oysters can be found!
Join me on the Taiwan Shuttle Bus Southwest Coast Route for a trip full of surprises!
On Chiayi County’s western sea coast, there’s a small town called Budai, which first sprung up in the 1600s. Through the centuries, this fishing village has managed to retain its simple charm.
These fields along the ocean aren’t used to plant crops. Locals refer to the stuff produced here as “white gold!”
This “white gold” is actually sea salt, which the people of Budai have been making under the sun for more than 200 years. But relying on the weather to make salt like this couldn’t beat out machines to do the same job, and Budai’s salt fields were forced out of business in 2001.
Now I’m going to try carrying salt. The trick is to relax your body, and not to think about the pain in your shoulders…. Here I go!
Luckily, the efforts of locals helped bring salt mountains back to the salt fields of Budai, this time as a tourist attraction combining exhibits on culture and ecological education.
Heavy,it’s too Heavy,man!
Budai is an ideal place for a more in-depth tour. One activity that comes highly recommended is taking a boat out to sea from the town’s fishing harbor.
I am on the board right now, today I’m Join the tour with students, I am so exciting about what I’m going to see later.
The waters off Budai are clean and rich in algae, perfect for raising large, delicious oysters. We’re learning all kinds of new things from the expert introductions provided on our seaborne classroom.
These are the aquatic pastures of Budai’s fishermen, who raise Taiwan’s freshest oysters in these bamboo pens.
Our trip out to the wetlands of the Haomei Village Nature Reserve has been a huge thrill, with lots of new and interesting experiences
What I’m wearing is used as a tool by fishermen to dig up clams. Raking it through the sand like this, you know you’ve found one when it makes a sound like “ka-la.”
Even with the right tools, it turns out today wasn’t my day, and I didn’t get any. But I’m not giving up, and I’ve decided to try out another method
Now I’m going to get some clams. They say you can find it’s at under the ground 5-10 centimetre. So let's try it
Ya,I’m found one! Isn’t it pretty.
Off the coast of Budai, there’s another much-talked-about spot, which is The Glass Shoe Church. It had become of Taiwan’s most popular picture spots, even before it was opened.
It’s really~ really pretty.
Though it’s called a church, it’s not really a religious venue, but just an art installation made out of glass mounted on a steel frame. In 2016, Guinness World Records named it the world’s largest high heel-shaped structure, an award that generated over 300 stories in the foreign media.
We’ve had a great time taking in the traditional and modern charm of Budai. If you have the chance, you should definitely come and see it for yourself.I am Poyu Lin, enjoy your time in Taiwan! Ciao~see you next time.
