立法院副院長蔡其昌、立委張廖萬堅上午一同拜訪台積電中科 15A 廠，據了解，台積電除了表達期待購地的意願，並認為在全球積極發展半導體下，此事有其急迫性，但也保留了一定的彈性，希望政府能協助解決，讓 2 奈米廠能落腳台中。
據交通部觀光局網站資料，台中高爾夫球場是由台中在地企業興農集團總裁楊天發投資興建，並特地邀請日本名球場設計師渡邊弘規劃設計。球場緊鄰台中科學園區，並與兩條高速公路和機場都十分接近，交通方便順暢，佔地 90 餘公頃。
台積電希望在中科周邊擴廠，做為2奈米廠用地，而台積電早已相中與中科台中園區相鄰的台中高爾夫球場用地。
而經過協商後，立法院副院長蔡其昌表示，這塊土地包括相鄰的軍方及國產署土地，均已同意釋出，「現在就看台積電的意願」。
