人生主管 我曉 – Nowhere Boys 《大不了一代》

去年「月光寶盒」令NWB在音樂上大放異彩，音樂風格及影像都令人眼前一亮。《天外飛仙》除了帶給他們勇氣外還有更多演出，不論內地或本地音樂節都有他們的腳毛，2018年交出了兩首作品。《生死時速》和《大不了一代》，雖然兩首作品聽音樂風格很大差別，但其實都在說同樣話題，談成長談抉擇談勇氣。相比之下，我很愛《大不了一代》。
由VAN譜曲，林寶填詞NWB共同編曲，當然有謝國維監製。我會覺得《大不了一代》是一首很入耳的作品，HOOKLINE易記又不落俗套，比起快歌，這一次聽到很細膩Melody。再要讚的是編曲，不得了。電影式搖滾不一定要即食的英雄片，都可以有內心感受較重的感覺。《大不了一代》的結他聲很搶耳，開段用結他重複又重複就如大人世界一樣，每日每步都一樣。頭段副歌已經加入了和音和那些「叮叮聲」，就如在呼喚內在小孩的聲音一樣。第二段編曲設計些明顯急進得多，整個過程就好像尋找自我的一個部份。喜歡後段MUSIC BREAK SOLO樂器的那段，再配上現場大合唱的AD-LIB，既成功做到現場氣氛又能打動聽眾內心。
《大不了一代》成功在於林寶歌詞，相比《地心吸力》更能引起共鳴。林寶用字很到位，「營役是為換著止痛劑」「大時代 可令人 變細了」甚至歌曲最後一句「人生主管 我曉」。整份詞沒有太多老生常談的用字，反而用了一個新的面向來寫「長大」。要再讚的是VAN的唱腔明顯有進步，比起《大步走》《夕陽武士》，唱得有進步，不過最大問題是有些位唱很硬，就算《夕陽武士》都有這個問題。不過整體上《大不了一代》聽得出有進步的。
我知道的，NWB何止有這個層面，他們每一位都是獨當一面的樂手，這兩年只出了一半的力，還有很多未開發的音樂可能性。偶爾放慢一下，出外走走吸收更多，創作才會有新的靈感。
