We are often too preoccupied with the many things going on in life to give our loved ones kind reminders. However, has it ever occurred to you that your parents could fall prey to phone scams because you haven’t reminded them often enough?
Phone scammers often pose as couriers, officials in Mainland China and staff from the Immigration Department etc., to request personal particulars from their targets and demand that they set up online bank accounts. The scammers would then ask the victims to disclose the login names and passwords for the accounts, in order to defraud them.
In fact, coming up with an agreed code word that your parents and loved ones can use to verify any claims made by dubious callers, is already the best way to show your love and care for them.
