【淚灑NBA：見證林書豪這些年】 #牧

「如果神要我在台上哭泣，我願意，如果我能做出最有影響力的，不是做籃球員，而是在台上分享生命所有挫敗，我願意！」林書豪淚灑在27日晚間新店行道會的佈道會現場，網路上討論炸裂，我的心情也十分「阿咂」。

（以下這篇〈淚灑NBA：見證林書豪這些年〉，文長。請勿在主日聚會空檔點開）

從1995年起成馬刺鐵粉的我，在2010年間的「後鄧肯時代」唯獨聚焦追蹤兩個球員的場內外表現。他們剛好都是在2011年登上NBA舞台。剛好都在前年遭受到報銷一整個球季的大傷。也都在過去這個球季轉隊復出並在多倫多匯聚成為隊友，還一起拿下總冠軍。

兩人的差異也十分顯著：2012年，一個已打出生涯代表作登上《時代雜誌》封面，掌握全隊進攻發動的球權；一個仍毫無持球能力，在隊上被三位老大哥壓著，只能隱身在底角等球投。

可是到了2019年，當初籍籍無名的那位已經成為暴龍奪冠的FMVP、聯盟「現役第一人」的當紅炸子雞，各隊端出天價頂約搶破頭；另一位卻只在總冠賽板凳邊緣亮相51秒，並在季後乏人問津，恐在下季滑出NBA 450名現役球員的合約名單外。

這兩人，一個是「可愛」Kawhi Leonard，一個就是Jeremy Lin林書豪。

「感覺NBA放棄我了！」林書豪淚灑在新店行道會的佈道會現場，是什麼造就他們的命運百般交錯？以我觀察下來，無非是性格與人生價值選擇。林書豪選擇了影響力，而可愛選擇了跟籃球融為一體。

自進入NBA開始，林書豪每一個暑假休賽季都在「亞洲行」，除此之外，他花很多時間經營FB、IG，用生活、用變髮、用電動、用網路挑戰跟華語藝人串粉。除了與RyanHiga等加州ABC圈的Youtuber不定期協作拍短片之外，他更在上季跑去大陸錄製《這就是灌籃》整季節目當素人導師，還冠名贊助組了一隻電競隊伍…。
林書豪的社交媒體，展現了他在球員身份以外的多元生活風貌。

「糸柬王求女子口馬～～」已經成了林書豪這類花邊新聞被改寫時，網民一個流行的meme——過去幾年，我對此不予置評。你怎麼知道他私底下不是在苦練？
在本職學能之外也一直擴闊業餘知識範疇，使用社群媒體拓展和網友的互動與名人社交，在互聯網時代「打破同溫層」、「發揮影響力」，都無可厚非，不表示咱不是鴨子划水地在維持精進本職學能。

然後去年開始，我有了不一樣的想法。
走「光榮孤立」路線在卡內基美隆大學讀博的汪大屢次與我聊到：

「『學而優則仕』的實用主義真的是儒家傳統的根深蒂固觀念。在美國觀察，只有台灣／華人的（政治）學者那麼執著要『發揮影響力』；在美國白人專家學者就是純粹的專家學者，普遍只關心做出好的學術研究，不太借用學者身份參與在塑造公共政策議題風向中。」

這是價值選擇。價值不一定都有對錯，但是每一種選擇都必須面對相應的後果並要自己承擔。「發揮影響力」、「經營個人profile」不可諱言，一定會影響本職學能的精進和專注——這是親身體會，要又扮「狐狸」又扮「刺蝟」，難於緣木求魚。

最後，YT側欄一直推薦的《這就是灌籃》，成為讓我開始倒向「林酸」的最後一根稻草：（嘻嘻哈哈錄這什麼假比賽節目，練球好嗎！）～

32歲以後我手臂受過2次大傷、入院動刀4次，復健後身材外觀會恢復，但上了球場，心／體／技已完全無法回到傷前狀態。

去年林書豪大傷，可愛也大傷。但林書豪狀況是大幅下滑的那一種，可愛卻不惜為了狀態100%恢復，跟馬刺球團徹底鬧翻；獨自跑到紐約尋醫復健，形象徹底黑化也不在乎。直到轉隊在暴龍，讓我們看到他還是那個身手完全足以跟詹皇、雷帝叫板的Klaw。

可愛與書豪是完全極端的對比。他進NBA後髮型從沒變過、不玩社交媒體、不經營公眾形象、不求廣告代言。從大學以來隊內隊外的人士都可以見證可愛就是一個純粹的「練球魔人」。他抓著馬刺的投籃教練訓練，把原來完全沒有的單打跳投技術，練到喬丹科比都大加讚賞的爐火純青，超乎所有人對他原來只是個「頂級3D綠葉」的期待。

可愛一年一年暑假在社交媒體中消失，即使是陷身在交易傳聞與合約風暴中，你也盼不到他的發言。但開季我們就會發現，他一年回歸比一年強；他消失在鎂光燈的那些時間，原來是去找詹皇一起訓練、找頂級的物理治療和肌力訓練師加強。長出我們沒看過的技術、把對位的任何對手吃乾抹淨；用硬實力說話，讓分手的母隊想要嗆他也沒脾氣。

在人際關係處理和影響力的最大發揮上，可愛堪稱「失敗」。但在精益求精、專注比賽的職人精神方面，從「綠葉」走到今日的聯盟第一人，可愛已經成為傳奇。

2012年林來瘋之初，自己因為寫了篇向華文讀者介紹這股林旋風脈絡的詳細報導，引起不小關注，收到兩間出版社接洽我撰寫《林書豪傳》，當時我在美國正考慮下一步的動向，我認為這個選擇能在當下發揮立即的「影響力」，卻不容易看到自己「再下一步」的機會，就婉拒了。

同一時間，我內心也為林書豪的打法延續性焦急。他那時只會右切、左手護球不佳；外線出手姿勢不標準；體能在30-35分鐘就緊繃到極限；失誤率太高。最明顯的，是作為黃種人後衛，他的肌力要承受NBA黑人肉柱環伺的碰撞下還有不足，若不持續加強和保養，受傷機率很高。

果不其然，在林來瘋開始後短短不到兩個月，林書豪傷退告別餘下的賽季。那時我也期待，他可以用休季期間，把上述一些短板加強，並在肌力可以支撐的穩健上場時間內，打出高效的合理籃球。

這些年，若說林書豪沒有比林來瘋時進步，要不是昧著良心說話，就是沒在看球。尤其是在黃蜂登版的那個賽季，他的左手使用和體能維持都到了顛峰狀態（休季期間我看了訓練師用擋版練他左切的影片，就看出顯著進步了）。然而後來既然又受傷（而且連續幾季受傷），那作為球員沒有選擇，只有雙倍的努力才可能彌補流失的肌力和肌肉記憶。

很顯然，書豪的身體在這點還是妥協了。

月前看到 J-Con駐NBA記者好友ShenJade大大錄了一小段場邊書豪投射三分的影片，大概有投10中8的水準。ShenJade的下標印象中是：「其實空檔三分命中率還不差…」。

但可能以前我在校隊跑戰術的配置就是空位三分的簡易3D，我知道書豪的姿勢變了，而且這個姿勢是在真實比賽中完全沒辦法用的（出手點太低、太慢；且分兩段舉球、不利三脅的假動作接招變化）。有注意到這點的網友，也在推斷他是否傷後在試圖避免投籃讓膝蓋和腰部出力，才改變出手姿勢讓手臂去代償。

總之，後來書豪場上不到3成的三分命中率、被冰板凳的下場，可能可說是信心問題、體系無法配搭，以及狀態沒能調整好的問題兼有之。這對他必然是十分艱困的調適。

運動員是一項很殘酷的職業。每一年有太多人無法達成夢想、有人年華老去被取代、有人傷後再也回不來、有人只是錯失了一個關鍵球就從此上不了場…。

我在大學籃球隊打到大四下和延畢準備留學的那個學期。當時老爸和一紅粉知己女同學都問我：「為什麼（沒那打出名堂的條件）還要繼續打球隊？」我也答不上，只能說，想趁身體和生命進程中最有條件的時刻盡情揮汗、不留憾恨，能打到哪個境界就到哪。

「影響力」重要嗎？重要，非常重要。特別是對於有偉大志向、胸懷福音的人來說。我認為自己過去能從林來瘋之初就能描繪出他的奮鬥軌跡，不單是因為愛籃球，更是因為我能看懂這個年輕人想打的球，與其內涵共鳴：福音、亞裔驕傲、打破刻板印象、成為上帝給這個時代的見證。這是 #公共神學 的響應。

但這個故事也存在另一面：失敗、受傷、沮喪、邊緣、被時代背棄。我們要學會敬佩那些完全沒有任何扛起「大我」的執念，專心「只」做好練球這一件小事的球員，但也要肯定林書豪劈荊斬棘拓荒開墾的劃時代里程碑。正如我堅信自己這些年抉擇的價值意義，但同時對那些摒棄所有雜音（無視中港台一切政治紛擾和公共神學參與）只把博士和升等論文一篇又一篇琢磨發表出來的學界同儕，也感到無比敬佩。

未來，林書豪還會面對一個重要的「影響力抉擇」。一個是莫斯科中央陸軍（CSKA）給他的報價，一個是中國大陸的CBA。再次強調，價值選擇無關對錯，但每種選擇都必須面對相應的後果，自己去承擔。

專業上說，俄羅斯這支球隊所屬的歐洲聯賽是世界第四高水平，CBA則球賽鬆散混亂，外援單打自幹、團隊配合以及訓練水準落差巨大。如果林書豪的志向真的是重返世界籃壇最高競技殿堂的NBA，中央陸軍會是目前檯面上最佳選擇。但如果他想的是「影響力」、商業價值、更多經營華人禾場的機會，甚至夾帶背景攜上弟弟書緯一起打球，那他只能也只會選擇CBA。

前途茫茫的林書豪說，他今年很不想回來亞洲行分享；甚至，他昨日的講稿完全是最後一小時才趕出來。我完全相信。每一年我都關注他的佈道信息內涵。當成功的光環退卻，你必須繳交在佈道祭壇的，是你真實的靈魂。

「祂必興旺，我必衰微。」見證不會永遠是榮耀的。甚至參與公共，或什麼扛起黃種人招牌這種事，也從來只是我們把自己強迫放在那個位置上，才堆出的壓力與失落。

事實上，神已經在一切場域中為我們爭戰、得勝並且掌權了。我們要參與的，不是公共，而是祂的宇宙計畫中。
