埃絲特·貝哈拉諾 (Esther Bejarano) 過世。她是納粹奧斯威辛集中營組建的管弦樂隊的最後倖存者之一，享年 96 歲。
集中營管弦樂隊由 40 名女囚犯組成，每當猶太囚犯一早起來，如動物般被趕著做苦工，或是一列新火車載著又一群被逮捕的猶太人抵達時，她都必須在旁，賣力演奏音樂。
晚年，她致力於確保世界不能忘記大屠殺。不能忘記種族滅絕，不能遺忘族群主義之害。
貝哈拉諾的姐姐和父母在納粹集中營中被殺害。18 歲時，她送到奧斯威辛集中營，每日背著沉重的石頭做苦工。
一天，她發現軍警衛正在尋找手風琴手加入管弦樂隊。儘管不知如何演奏樂器，她自願參加。
她回憶起奧斯威辛女子管弦樂團必須為新來的人演奏，目視一切悲痛，親眼看著族人的一個一個隨時餓死、累死倒下，還有送入瓦斯室集體活活燒死的慘烈⋯⋯但即使悲劇已重如巨石，她們的演奏，不能停止。
在音符飄揚時，「你知道他們正在被毒死，而你所能做的就是站在那裡演奏」。
手拉著風琴，狠狠地用力，願一切痛苦趕緊結束，不再知覺。願上帝賜他死亡，儘速，快一點，脫離折磨。
2014 年她告訴德國之聲，那時候她體驗了死亡的偉大。
她最終被轉移至拉文斯布呂克婦女集中營，在那裡她設法逃脫。
埃絲特·貝哈拉諾在奧斯維辛集中營能倖存下來，只因為她在營地的管弦樂隊中演奏手風琴。
二戰之後，她將自己的一生獻給了音樂以及反對種族主義和反猶太主義的鬥爭。
第二次世界大戰結束後，她前往以色列並成為一名歌手，1960 年她返回了熟悉又傷心的德國。
她的餘生致力於教育人們了解什麼是大屠殺，以及仇外心理是多麼可怕的思想。
德國外交部長海科·馬斯在她週六去世時，致上悼念：貝哈拉諾是反對種族主義和反猶太主義的重要聲音。
貝哈拉諾與朋友共同創立國際奧斯威辛委員會。她有時候還會與她的孩子們一起表演，有一個名為 Confidence 的樂隊中，演奏猶太抵抗歌曲。
「這是我惟一的復仇。我去學校，我告訴人們當時發生的事情。我們的敵人不是人，是人的思想。我希望大屠殺的事，再也不要發生。」
