I dropped my favourite glass today. And I spent fifteen minutes gazing at the broken pieces.
To my surprise, the glass, in its current, broken form, inspires more fondness and admiration in me, than when it was intact. To me, you are now more beautiful, more perfect.
I spent the next ten minutes recording its transient beauty in the form of a photograph.
That was the most peaceful thirty minutes I’ve ever spent in my life. The broken glass was the most beautiful thing I’ve beheld. And the clink at the moment of impact was the most enchanting sound.
Things that appear broken now may not be as bad as you imagine.
Maybe, the most horrendous thing is just around the corner.
Maybe, just maybe, the most horrendous thing, is me.
I think I‘ve got the answer.
