如何讓孩子從小培養環保概念，知道節省、不要隨意製造垃圾的重要性呢?這本小宇宙出版的《讓世界更好》故事就是在說一個很重要的環保議題 - 塑膠袋氾濫。透過女主角伊莎圖的遭遇，我們就像一起親身經歷了一趟在甘比亞的旅程。

故事一開始我們看見傳統的棕櫚葉籃被輕巧鮮豔又防水的塑膠袋所取代，但人們拋棄的塑膠袋無法被土地分解回收(掩埋百年也不會腐爛)，燃燒還會產生惡臭(與戴奧辛)，漸漸地廢棄塑膠袋越堆越多，街容越來越醜陋骯髒，甚至還害山羊們因為吃了塑膠袋而致死...

伊莎圖知道了以後無法坐視不理，她屏住呼吸從垃圾堆裡撿出一個一個塑膠袋，但該怎麼做才好呢? 她和朋友們將塑膠袋清洗乾淨，然後將其剪成條狀，並捲成塑膠線軸，一針一針鉤織成塑膠袋錢包。雖然塑膠袋錢包一開始被嘲笑，但後來卻蔚為流行。伊莎圖相信只要持之以恆地回收與努力，終有一天這些垃圾都會消失，家園就會變得美麗。

這本雖然是環保議題，但故事氣氛不會太枯燥沉重，正向樂觀的結局也對孩子具有鼓勵啟發的效果，不但能讓他們知道環保與節省的重要性，家長也可以與孩子一起討論看看，日常生活中有什麼辦法可以減少塑膠垃圾，減輕地球的負擔? 我們想了一些方法:

1⃣ 出門要帶環保袋，買東西就不用買新的塑膠袋
2⃣ 資源回收箱整桶拿去垃圾間將回收物分類後，再帶回家清洗，就不需使用塑膠袋來裝資源回收物
3⃣ 乾淨的塑膠袋重複使用，太髒的才拿去當垃圾袋
4⃣ 用可重複使用的環保餐具、環保杯與不銹鋼或矽膠吸管
