行過千山萬里，驀然回首，創作初衷始於細細聆聽心裡的聲音。這正是有「靈心之子」（Soulboy）之稱的金曲歌王方大同，在創作最新歌曲〈Throw It Off〉時的心情寫照。〈Throw It Off〉歌詞言簡意賅，沒有過度鋪陳，沒有刻意堆砌的華麗詞藻，極簡的Love、Soul、Sky和Galaxy寓意，迴盪出歌曲欲傳達追求浩瀚無垠心境之意境。搭配上方大同在副歌段落處不斷空靈吟唱「Follow your heart/Throw it off」，提醒你和我去擺脫心中無意義的枷锁，心之所向才會有身之所往。〈Throw It Off〉另一個讓人耳目一新與心醉神迷之處，便是重低音運用之優美且厚實，讓人聆聽時彷彿墜入可以聆聽到自己心跳的湛藍深海，給包覆在歌曲怦然悸動的感受之中。
〈Throw It Off〉便是這樣一首方大同回歸創作本質的歌曲。一切正如歌曲主旨所述，放開懷抱，從心出發，聆聽內心的聲音，曲音便很自然而然地誕生。不過在MV拍攝上可就沒那麼輕鬆，方大同以行腳方式深入奇山異水的張家界、美麗的鳳凰古城與壯闊景色山高谷深所聞名的人間仙境雲南，其中險峻與壯麗景致可見一般，只為了呈現歌曲探尋心靈深處的意境。
出道13年的方大同從青澀到擁有多首膾炙人口的歌曲，到經營自己的音樂品牌，製作了兒童品德教育的動畫及歌曲，歷經多方探索音樂創作的可能性，〈Throw It Off〉對於此刻回歸音樂創作本質的方大同也特別顯得具有重要意義。也因此這首歌也成了方大同今年11月睽違四年全新巡迴演唱會「方大同TIO靈心之子巡迴演唱會」命名的靈感，透過這首歌重申方大同永遠對音樂的堅持與熱切的心。
