Never thought it's possible, but that's just a mindset, when I first set eyes on this place in an article 2 years ago, seems like mission impossible to come all the way here (which is without a car), being away from the city for 2 days is rather therapeutic, minimal internet connection 😅

So happy that we are riding the limited edition newly launched #HELLOKITTY shinkansen!
It's route starts from Osaka and ends at Hakata, with limited timing best to book your rides online 👉 http://www.jr-hellokittyshinkansen.jp/train/

Initially we thought we couldn't make it since we book from Kyoto station yesterday (try luck) because seats were full from Osaka, but we manage to grab seats from Okayama instead 😂 especially now summer holidays are ongoing and hello kitty fans from all over the world are not missing this opportunity to ride the bullet train! 🚅 It's covered under JR passes (Kodama 741) but for non reserve seats. Heading to Yamaguchi prefecture now!

Another prefecture conquered today and never in my wildest dreams thought that I could catch a glimpse of Mt.Fuji up close despite the gloomy weather.

So blessed to be seeing the sakura in full bloom today at Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi which is less than 2 hrs train ride away from #kichijojitokyuREIHotel ! Other option is you can rent a car an drive there too (car rental shop opposite the hotel) both take a about the same time to reach.

there are some buds yet to bloom so it's safe to assume that the flowers will be around for another 3-4 days (unless bad weather) before it starts to fall.
