COSPLAY - 1 CỘNG ĐỒNG FASHION KHÁC.

Không phải là Wibu, nhưng Bi cũng là 1 người rất nghiện anime và manga Nhật Bản. Đã có thời từng mê mẩn bộ jacket của Akira, áo khoác trong Ghost in the Shell, kimono của Gintama. Văn hoá GEEK - là 1 subculture bao gồm những liên quan và có khi tới mức cuồng tín với các thể loại media bao gồm Hoạt hình Nhật Bản, video games, sciene fiction mà dân gian hay thân thương gọi là “Otaku” hay “Wibu” (Không có ý đả kích gì nhé mọi người) - bùng phát lên mạnh mẽ với sự bùng nổ của các phương tiện hiện đại, giúp 1 số người tìm thấy được niềm vui của cuộc đời mình tại thế giới số đó.

Cosplay là nơi để những người yêu thích 1 class, 1 char/ 1 nhân vật nào đó mặc đồ, hoá thân thành họ và yeah - được người khác ngắm nhìn, là mình dưới danh của nhân vật mà mình thần tượng. Có thể là Deadpool, có thể là Major, có thể là Naruto. Giống như các Fashion Week/ tuần lễ thời trang nổi tiếng, chúng ta cũng có các Comic Con - nơi anh hùng tụ hội và thoả sức mặc những gì mà họ cảm thấy thích và hoá thân vào nhân vật họ mong muốn. Ngày qua ngày, Geek culture phát triển và các Comic con ngày càng nườm nượp người tham gia - khi mà sự ảnh hưởng của các anime Nhật Bản và video games tác động lớn đến một số lượng không nhỏ thế hệ sau này (Việc đó không hề có gì sai nhé).

Nói về thời trang - đúng, nó hoàn toàn khác với Streetfashion mà chúng ta Theo đuổi. Nhưng về haute couture hay avant-garde, nhiều khi chúng ta phải xem lại. Các game developer - các mangaka khi xây dựng các hình tượng của họ - có lấy ý tưởng thời trang cho nhân vật chịu rất nhiều ảnh hưởng của các dữ liệu thời trang xưa (bao gồm Trung Cổ, Phục Hưng..) và nhiều người tài giỏi đến mức, dựa trên các nền tảng có sẵn. Phóng tác ra các outfit mới, mang hướng tương lai (Như Gantz, Ghost in the Shell hay Sci-fi Cyborg như Full Metal Alchemist). Mình cũng có một bài viết về sự ảnh hưởng của anime lên thời trang, có cả những cây cổ thụ của làng thời trang như Yohji Yamamoto, Rei Kawakubo hay cả Nigo (Nhánh UT Uniqlo) - Supreme nữa. Điều này đã có thấy sức ảnh hưởng của subculture tới nền văn hoá này như thế nào.

Mỗi loại thời trang có một bản luật riêng - nhưng theo mình, cosplay có sự tự do hơn các nhánh chúng ta đang yêu thích. Không cần phải hàng hiệu, không cần phải archived hay tỏ ra thời thượng với xu hướng hiện tại. Thời trang Cosplay nắm lấy sự tỉ mỉ, chi tiết của bộ đồ - làm sao để nhân vật nó càng giống nhân vật trong truyện, trong game nhất. Nhưng điều này không có nghĩa là toàn bộ các outfit cosplay đều rẻ nhé, có bộ handmade coi giá cũng không khác gì 1 con Rafsimons RIOT đâu. Thời trang cosplay có vẻ phóng khoáng hơn - không câu nệ brand mà chỉ nặng lên bạn có “đủ đô” để khiến ng ta nhìn vào biết là ai không mà thôi.

Và như nhắc ở trên - việc cosplay 1 manga, 1 videogame nào đó, nhiều khi sẽ mang lại cho chúng ta 1 cái gì đó rất haute couture, rất avant-garde hay thậm chí là còn cả techwear. Nói phải đáng tội - nhiều bạn mang danh Techwear ở Việt Nam! mà mình thấy outfit còn ko mặn bằng outift của những bạn cosplay (Chưa tính tới thương hiệu nhé).
�Việc bùng nổ Geekculture khiến cosplay ngày càng được công nhận trên thế giới. Các lễ hội ngày càng nườm nượp và thu hút nhiều Wibu hơn - còn trong ngành thời trang ư. Chẳng phải Uniqlo vẫn đều đêu ra các collab với manga hay sao (chuẩn bị là với Dragon Ball) - hay Coach với Michael.B.Jordan mới leak ra collection hợp tác với Naruto. Và Lu ít Vuôi Tươi mới post cái logo co-op với League of Legends. Cứ chê “Wibu” đi - rồi ngày nào đó “Wibu” mặc đẹp hơn chúng ta đấy.

About the work

《Summer Morning Rain》is a Max/MSP-assisted composition for Piano, Soundscape, and Computer-Generated Sound (stereo, surround, 5.1 or ~8 channels). This work was influenced by Dr. Jean Eichelberger Ivey's《Skaniadaryo》for Piano and Tape (1976). (Dr. Jean Eichelberger Ivey founded the Electronic Music Studio of the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University in the late 60'.)

In 《Summer Morning Rain》 the pianist improvises in the spirit of 《Skaniadaryo》, then uses Max/MSP to develop contradictory voices in real-time. Live and processed piano together achieve a new composition using modern technology to convey the concepts of the older work: a contemporary reworking of an historical electronic music composition. The composer hopes that with this new work, the spirit and context of early electronic music will be continued and preserved.

About the composer

Sandra Tavali Wuan-chin Li

Of the Siraya people (Aborigine in Taiwan), Sandra Tavali Wuan-chin Li is a former keyboardist of the well-known metal band "Chthonic". She is the composer for the TV documentary "Unknown Island" produced by the Discovery Channel. Her musical works crossover between computer music, EDM, classical visual art, film, and documentaries. The sound track she re-scored for Peter Tscherkassky's 《L'Arrivee》was premiered at 2018 IMD-Internationales-musikinstitut Darmstadt. and will present at ManiFeste-2019, IRCAM, Paris in June.

She earned the Master of Music degree in Computer Music from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Dr. Geoffrey Wright. Her research 《A Performer's Musicological Research in Performing Interactive Computer Music》was invited to present in ICMC 2004.
