Yesterday as part of Design Miami/, a few of us artists had a discussion on design and hybridity hosted by Paola Antonelli, curator of MoMA The Museum of Modern Art's department of architecture and design, and Joe Gebbia, cofounder of Airbnb. Some questions: what would the future look like as more people embrace a hybrid of careers? What can workplaces and higher education do to encourage that hybridity? We also discussed how even though we've left the fields we studied, our backgrounds have informed and shaped what we're doing now, perhaps like a remix of past experiences.
