以血腥和酷刑來包裝故事，實情是挑戰人性

不過這次被懲罰的人都是濫用私刑、目無法紀的警察
血腥程度比過往的低，對一般觀眾來言會比較容易接受
亦同樣在結尾埋下伏線，準備以下一集作故事延伸

這次【梗你評電影】要來評的是電影《死亡漩渦：奪魂鋸新遊戲》；這部是由《奪魂鋸》系列電影《奪魂鋸2、3、4》的導演 戴倫連恩布斯曼所執導，是《奪魂鋸》系列電影的外傳兼全新故事，也是系列作中沒有「拼圖殺人狂」（托賓貝爾飾演）的作品。

故事描述由克里斯洛克所飾演的警探 齊克班克斯，調查一起連續殺警案；被殺害的警察與過去的拼圖殺人狂手法相似，被害人生前被兇手的死亡機關折磨而慘死。案發現場兇手都遺留漩渦圖騰，並以豬頭人的形象向警方提供線索；而齊克在追捕兇手的過程中，更進一步發覺這些被害人都是在警局內四下從事非法勾當，深入挖掘出這個警局內過去不為人知的黑幕。

導演戴倫連恩布斯曼在電影宣傳期間表示，他希望《死亡漩渦：奪魂鋸新遊戲》是一部能夠跳脫過去《奪魂鋸》系列電影的虐殺主題，並定調在警匪懸疑推理的類型電影。過去以喜劇演出走紅的克里斯洛克，除了在本片飾演主角 齊克班克斯之外，還擔任本片的故事編寫以集執行製片，他表示自己一直都是《奪魂鋸》系列電影的粉絲，也向發行方 獅門影業提出擴展系列的想法，讓獅門影業對此系列的新故事開發備感興趣。
電影在2019年7月於多倫多開拍，並於8月底殺青；原定2020年3月上映，卻因為新冠肺炎疫情影響而延後一年至2021年5月14日於美國上映。上映後一個月，在全球票房總計2870萬美金，對比2000萬美金的製作預算，《死亡漩渦：奪魂鋸新遊戲》可說是票房表現不佳的作品。雖然2021年4月，Twisted製片公司確定開發《奪魂鋸》的第十部電影，但目前《死亡漩渦：奪魂鋸新遊戲》的評價普遍不佳，後續是否順利繼續進行續集製作，仍有待觀察。
