Every year, for each of our birthdays, Mrs Mom will normally write a special post dedicated just for us. And today is Fatimah’s 6th birthday! Unfortunately, Mrs Mom has been unwell so she is not able to write for now. I have decided to take over because I have promised Mrs Mom that I will be her eyes when she can’t read, I’ll be her voice when she can’t speak, and I’ll be her words when she can’t write…
For as long as I can remember, I have always thought of Fatimah as strong-willed, resilient, brave, fun, loving - even inspirational! But these words are simply not enough to sum up my little sister's amazing character. She may be little, but she is fierce! She is ready to take on anything. She’s always wanting to learn new things and share her knowledge with others by teaching them, too. She’s a fast learner and an unbelievably good teacher!
Many of you may know that Fatimah LOVES to talk! In fact, Mrs Mom says that she was #BornToTalk! She’s even been dubbed the Junior Motivational Speaker - honestly, she deserves that title. But then 2019 came, a year that was hard for all of us, the year in which we lost our beloved Mamajee Adamdidam, and all of a sudden, it was like Fatimah had lost her voice - and herself! She was no longer giving us her powerful little speeches or telling us her stories anymore. Sure, she had a smile on her face, but her eyes said it all. Just one look at them and we all knew that she was struggling. It was an especially hard time for her because Mamajee had become like a father to her when Mrs Mom was ill and Mr Dad had his hands full with Ali and everything else...
Losing Mamajee was like losing a piece of her. But she fought. She fought and she would keep on fighting until she overcame that emptiness. Now, she is happier, and although she still finds it hard sometimes, I can definitely say with full confidence that Fatimah is the STRONGEST girl I know and I am so proud to have her as my little sister - I know Ali loves and adores Fatimah with all his heart too! I doubt I will ever meet anyone as AMAZING as Fatimah - she is truly one in a million!
