SULTAN OF JOHOR: FOOD AID MUST BE SINCERE, NOT BASED ALONG RACIAL LINES
HM The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has stressed that food aid for those in need must be done sincerely for all, not according to ethnic differences.
His Majesty said that in the current situation, all people have fallen on hard times and are facing unbearable difficulties, regardless of their race or religion.
“If you want to help, please be sincere by helping anyone in need. Do not discriminate along ethnic lines,” said His Majesty.
HM Sultan Ibrahim made the comments following a viral video that showed a grocery shop in Skudai, Johor Bahru, offering basic food aid but allegedly discriminated against a certain race.
His Majesty emphasised yet again the importance of unity and tolerance amongst all Bangsa Johor.
“Our unity is the backbone of our society. The Sultan Ibrahim of Johor Foundation (SIJF), for example, hands out food aid to all Johoreans every week, regardless of their race or religion.
“The intention is to help all people in need. Issues of race or religion should never arise,” said His Majesty.

The business sector has always been the close partner of the Equal Opportunities Commission (“#EOC”). My appreciation goes to the employers which shows their serious support to the promotion of racial diversity in the workplace by signing The Racial Diversity & Inclusion Charter For Employers. These employers all concur with the nine goals set forth in the Charter as follows:
1. Implement racial equality and diversity policies for the organisation based on the principles of the Race Discrimination Ordinance (RDO) and the Code of Practice on Employment under the RDO.
2. Establish fair recruitment, appointment, promotion, staff development and dismissal processes and criteria that do not discriminate against any person or groups of persons on the ground of race.
3. Review the employment processes and policies regularly to ensure relevance, fairness and absence of barriers for people of all races.
4. Raise awareness of the policies and principles of racial inclusion and the consequences of racial discrimination among staff through training courses, awareness campaigns, sharing of good practices, events and award schemes.
5. Proactively encourage engagement with racial minorities from underprivileged and under-represented communities through recruitment as well as internship opportunities, on-the-job training, mentorship schemes and staff volunteering activities.
6. Provide a safe and collaborative work environment for all employees.
7. Make employees of all races feel involved and included by taking into account their particular needs, if any, in communication, policies and activities.
8. Have in place a formal grievance process for employees to report and receive redress for any discrimination, harassment or unfair treatment, whether to themselves or observed towards others.
9. Ensure grievances are dealt with swiftly, effectively and confidentially.
The EOC encourages more companies and organisations to sign the Charter and work closely with us by bringing the value of racial diversity and inclusion to every single workplace.

Daily advice for HK immigrants to the West:
Regarding friendship, be sure to open your hearts not just to Asians and whites. Be prepared to accept friends of all races. Be prepared to mix with people who look, smell and live differently than you. This takes intentionality. You will have to deliberately change your view of other people of color. The only way to solve your own prejudice is a wider circle of friendship. That’s how we grow. In the West, if you huddle in your HK ghetto, you’ll remain a child forever. You’ll also give haters excuses to hate you or discriminate against you. What good would that do?

This beautiful view is in front of this award-winning, iconic, unforgettable and luxurious resort in Boracay Island, the Philippines.
But the only true about what I said is, “unforgettable”.
After a long walk from station 3 to DiscoveryS hores Boracay, I decided to grab my favorite pasta, aglio olio. There were a few people taking photos of food at the entrance and I was greeted by a guard who happened to be the owner, and the waiter of the resort.
His greetings was so warm, he asked if I had a QR code, which is required before you get in the island. His tone was so condescending and unfriendly, and so I thought, he was the owner, acting as a guard. I politely answered “yes, and I would not be able to get inside the island itself, if I did not have one.” Hence, my response for his already condescending voice. He answered back with a more condescending voice “I am just asking!” Which was then again, obvious from the first question he asked, because, it sounded with a question mark AND an exclamation point.
I eagerly asked if they had pasta, and he said he had to go inside first and check. When I was approaching him again, to ask if there serve pasta, he asked “what kind of pasta?”, now the guard became the waiter. I did not know a luxurious hotel hires a guard and a waiter at the same time.
The resort had a few people. Yes, which means there were plenty of vacant tables inside. He then approached me and ask me to dine it at a location where the table was filthy, the chair was dirty, and secluded from the rest of the guests. I confirmed four times with the manager if it was really their protocol, to let the walk-in guest eat there. Which was then a lie because I saw a few people dining it at the better place, not hotel guests, but walk-ins.
Discovery Shores Boracay Island, where the guard and manager discriminate people.
Discovery Shores Boracay Island, where they market their resort as luxurious but their service is rated as one star. No, let’s make it unrateable.
Discovery Shores Boracay Island, a place where people with Sony A7C and professional cameras are discriminated. Vloggers are not welcomed.
Discovery Shores where the guard is the owner, and the waiter. Where the operations manger is incapable.
Discovery Shores Boracay Island the Philippines, overrated and does not need the support of the people. Only people who discriminates supports a business that discriminates.
P.S, this is my personal experience, and with videos to support my claim. Some people around the area that this is owned by a congressman, where in the Philippines, you get killed if you speak against their businesses. So if something happens to me, you know who to find.
