"The history of pop culture is also the history of youth rebelling against age, and while the individual skirmishes in that eternal battle might go either way, only the most delusional among us could doubt which side will always prevail in the end.
Usually, these are the ones who respond with the most violent distaste when they see a vision of the world as imagined by young people; clinging to the hope they can hold fast against the winds of change, they dismiss, decry and disparage, attempting to exert control by invoking the same core beliefs and traditional values their own elders used to control them."

With so much that's happening around the world, I ask myself, what is the Christian's perspective in all that is happening around the world? What should the Christians be doing? Do we sit idle? Do we join hands in protest? More importantly, Lord what do you want to show us?
•
I'm all for #blacklivesmatter . And I think all Christians should be as well. What these people are facing is an injustice. And if our God is a God of justice, then we stand on the side of justice. Sure, all lives matter. Of course, it matters! After all, Jesus died for all! Not just for the Jews or the Chinese. But supporting the movement of a race (in the fight against injustice) does NOT disparage the love we and Christ have for all other races. And so in these times, if we want to show that we love our neighbour, then let us stand with them and for them. Let us pray unceasingly for them and see that justice and righteousness prevail.
•
I know it's hard to have faith in these times. I mean, look around. Even the best of Christians would question God. But I implore you, we must believe that God is sovereign and trust in His ultimate plan for we know His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. How can we even fathom the wisdom of God? We may not see or understand it now but we're not called to find out but to stand firm and be Christ's ambassadors instead. So, do just that. We can only go as far to discern the times according to His word and know the times we are living in. But our obedience must continue to be intact. Now is the time to show love more than ever. To demonstrate His love to the world. Take courage, take heart ❤

"I have said these things to you, that in me you have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Thought I should add this. I have the utmost respect for domestic helpers in Singapore, be it Filipino, Indonesian or Burmese. It takes courage to leave one's home country and work in a foreign land just to support one's family. I made some jokes about domestic helpers in SG, but there was no intention to disparage any group of people. So shoutout to all domestic helpers here in Singapore, and thank you for making people's lives better. Peace.
