Born as a Full-Fledged Child of God
“He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him. But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name: who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:11-13 WEB)
We were not just adopted into God’s family through legal papers.
We were born of God, to take on His divine nature, so that we are indisputably His children.
There was once when the apostle Paul was arrested in Jerusalem. He was interrogated, and the commanding officer asked him if he (Paul) was a Roman.
At that time, the law was that Roman citizens could not be punished without first having a fair trial. There were perks of citizenship.
“When the centurion heard it, he went to the commanding officer and told him, “Watch what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman!” The commanding officer came and asked him, “Tell me, are you a Roman?” He said, “Yes.” The commanding officer answered, “I bought my citizenship for a great price.” Paul said, “But I was born a Roman.” Immediately those who were about to examine him departed from him, and the commanding officer also was afraid when he realized that he was a Roman, because he had bound him.” (Acts 22:26-29 WEB)
The commanding officer bought his Roman citizenship at a high price, thus making him a Roman through the legal system.
However, Paul who was born in Tarsus, was a Roman by birth. No one can dispute citizenship by birth.
When the commanding officer and his subordinates realized that Paul was a Roman by birth, they were afraid and departed from him.
On a previous occasion, Paul was beaten with rods and stripes because he kept quiet and did not say that he was a Roman. He had the right to the kingdom’s protection, but he did not use it.
“But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us publicly, without a trial, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison! Do they now release us secretly? No, most certainly, but let them come themselves and bring us out!”” (Acts 16:37 WEB)
Many Christians are like Paul who kept silent and just took the beatings. They do not use their authority and status as a son of the Most High.
Perhaps they feel like they were reluctantly adopted through a legal system, and are not truly God’s children. They still feel like orphans and not heirs.
However, God’s word assures us that we are born of God, and have become a new creation in Christ. Our human spirit and the Holy Spirit have joined to become one divine spirit.
“Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two”, he says, “will become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.” (1 Corinthians 6:16-17 WEB)
You are a already full-fledged son of God and not just a servant on probation.
When the enemy comes to beat you with rods and stripes of condemnation, to try and put you into bondage, rise up and use your God-given authority.
Declare these powerful truths: “In Christ, I have been reborn as a child of God, and a citizen of Heaven. Abba God, I receive Your protection, deliverance, and favor in my situation. By the blood of Christ that was shed at the cross, I have been set free from every Satanic stronghold and yoke. Where the Holy Spirit is, there is freedom. I have been set free in Jesus’ name, amen!”
God has given us powerful weapons to deal with the enemy. Whenever the serpent comes with lies and intimidation, you can silence the voice of this accuser and emerge victorious in spiritual warfare. Be trained in this through my eBook “Silencing the Serpent”: https://bit.ly/silence-the-serpent-now

[ NO VICTORY FOR HONG KONG (yet) ] To my friends outside of Hong Kong,
You may have heard that the protestors have won: the government will withdraw the extradition bill, and we've gotten what we want. THIS IS NOT TRUE. We have five demands for the administration since the beginning, and retracting the bill at this time is too little, too late. The protests will continue, and this is why:
We protested because the bill would make everybody a potential victim of Mainland China's deeply unjust legal system. But what we've seen from the government's actions since June, is that the rule of man has already taken over in Hong Kong. The things we wanted to prevent in our city is already happening, bill or no bill:
FOR EXAMPLE: You can be tackled to the ground by the police just for shouting "Where is your conscience?" across the street. If you're arrested, you will be tortured, and forcibly undressed and humiliated by a cop while many more stand by and watch. You can be fired for supporting the protest on Facebook due to pressure from Beijing. If you're a student, you may have the cops called on you and your name submitted to the Education Bureau, just for wearing a mask as a sign of protest.
None of those things have made international headlines, but they are just a few of the countless acts of terror that happened within a span of ~90 days.
That is why withdrawing the bill at this stage changes nothing. Without a systemic change, and measures to hold the police and administration accountable, Hong Kong's problems will persist. And so the protests will go on. We do it because we can't let Hong Kong sink any lower.
Fight for Freedom, Stand with Hong Kong.
The Five Demands:
1. Full withdrawal of the Extradition Bill
2. An independent commission of inquiry into alleged police brutality
3. Retracting the classification of protesters as “rioters”
4. Amnesty for arrested protesters
5. Dual universal suffrage (for both the Legislative Council and the Chief Executive)

What makes Hong Kong a Special Administrative Region, unlike other cities in China?
Chapter 1, Article 5 of the Hong Kong Basic Law, reads:
“The socialist system and policies shall not be practised in the HKSAR, and the previous capitalist system and way of life shall remain unchanged for 50 years.”
《基本法》第一章 第五例 :「香港特別行政區不實行社會主義制度和政策,保持原有的資本主義制度和生活方式,五十年不變。 」
Hong Kong had been a British colony for more than 150 years before 1997.
The first Opium war ended in August 1842 with the signing of China’s first unequal treaty, the Treaty of Nanking 南京條約. The Qing government agreed to cede the HK island to Britain. The territory south of Boundary Street (界限街) in Kowloon was later ceded to Britain in 1860.
In June 1898, other parts of Hong Kong was leased to Britain for 99 years, expiring on June 30, 1997.
Under the British rule, Hong Kong began to have a very different system from that of other part of China. As the 99-year-lease approached, the government of China and Britain reached a deal and signed the “Sino-British Joint Declaration” (中英聯合聲明) in 1984 that would see Hong Kong return to China in 1997, under the principle of "one country, two systems" #一國兩制.
Hong Kong, being part of China, can retain the established system under a high degree of autonomy, except in foreign and defence affairs, for 50 years after reunification.
As a result, Hong Kong has its own legal system, borders, autonomy and rights, including the freedom of speech and assembly.
For instance, Hong Kong is a member of the WTO in its own right, being a full and separate member using the name "Hong Kong, China".
