These are tough times but we are choosing to look on the bright side of things. In fact, the kids and I are somewhat happy to stay home for the next month because it means we get to be together as a family and spend more time with the newborn who is growing up really fast.
Yup, we always say time flies when we have kids. So maybe this is a good time to let it slow down so we can truly appreciate every day, every moment of being together.
At the very least, we have a roof over our heads, we can buy food or order delivery, we can still go to the supermarket, we will have much more opportunities to craft, cook, play, talk, laugh, relax or have more family movie nights.
Anyway, we weren't planning to go out much during the June holidays - in fact, we didn't make any plans at all - so this just seems like an extended mid year hols to us for now. While I initially worried a little for my P6 girl, I then reckoned this might be a good way to teach her to be more resilient and be able to adapt to changes too.
I'm also thankful for the fact that being a stay-at-home mum, it just means I continue doing what I do every day, that is to look after the kids. To those who are more affected by the news and need to make last minute arrangements at work, jia you, hang in there and let's all hope things will get better soon. To our frontliners, thank you so much for working so hard for us. The least we can do is to play our part and stay home.
