Been working on documenting Glioblastoma(GBM) for almost a year. I want to write a little bit on doctor Peter Woo, who invited me to photograph this very meaningful project.
Being a neuron surgeon, he always need to work long hours with extreme focus in treating the human brain, and I don’t need to emphasize how tiring one can be after work. Describing patient’s situation to their relatives is another devastating task, considering the average survival time for GBM is two years, not to mention you have to do such on a weekly or even daily basis.
While managing his work already considered to be a difficult task, he still gives his own time to care for his patients. Months ago with the help of his friends he raised fund for one of his patients, Jeanna Wong, to start her TTF treatment. And when we know Jeanna wanted to try paragliding, he accompanied her up the hill, witnessing her first flight.
During the long night, it is these people I met helps keeping my faith. Faith that humanity can always treat this ever changing world, and the people around us, better.

Glad to announce Jeanna’s fund raising has reached HKD600,000 in less than two weeks, and she just received her first TTF treatment yesterday.
On behalf of Jeanna, we want to thank you for the sincere help. Your generosity brings hope to this young girl.

It uses alternating electrical fields to disrupt tumour cell division, thereby preventing the cancer from growing or spreading so quickly. 2) Jeanna hugging Karen Linker, who helped spreading words about the fundraising in her social media group.

Thanks for the birthday wishes.
As birthday is about life, I would like to take this special day to reflect a bit on her duo, death. In 2020 I started to document GBM patients for the Hong Kong Neuro-oncology Society. GBM is the most aggressive type of cancer that begins within the brain, with an average survival time of 18 months.
Quote from my favourite movie Shawshank Redemption, we either have to get busy living, or get busy dying - And here I see a group of people facing death, refusing to let life get the best of them, determine to embrace every moment and live their life to the fullest, in an average of 18 months.
It now comes to me life is about struggle, and more importantly, to find hope within struggle. It is probably the first year in my life I feel there is a strong calling to tell stories through the lens: To make these invisible people, with their struggles and hope, visible.
Treasure every breath we take.
