Q8.妳說，藝術給了妳表達自己的機會。在香港當女演員的局限很大，Dramatic Trunk 中可見到妳一些不甘於被現實豁限的instinct，正在尋找抒發的空間？
這令我想起了，法國五月剛結束了的女藝術家Niki de Saint Phalle 展覽，她於20 世紀60 年代，所面對封閉社會，對女性定型的主流思想，其實來到現在都沒有改變。我作為女性，仍感受到很多掙扎，在不同的角色中，如妻子、母親和自己中，不斷地努力找到平衡。我愛我的工作，最常見的質疑是：我不顧家庭，忽略子女。當我很專注工作時，就會遊魂，就連吃早餐時間，我的女兒們都意識到，我肉身跟她們吃早餐，但腦在想著創作/演戲，不同
的點子等等，連自己也覺得很不對，這也是一種掙扎，要不斷作平衡。Niki 是個天生的戰鬥者（natural born fighter），我某程度亦是fighter。
我很好奇觀眾會在看Dramatic Trunk 看見甚麼？會跟這作品產生甚麼關係。

Q8: You mentioned that art has given you the chance to express yourself. There are a lot
of constraints imposed upon actresses in Hong Kong. Can we see in your design any
instinctive drive to break through the norm for free self-expression?
This reminds me of the exhibition of Niki de Saint Phalle in France, which just ended in May.
She lived in a very repressive society in the last century in 60's, where women were stereotyped. l don't see much has changed now in this regard. As a woman, l find myself constantly struggling, trying to strike a balance among my duties as a wife, a mother, and myself. l love my job, but there are doubts l am ignoring my children and family. When l am absorbed in thoughts about work l get distracted. Even when l am physically present, say, at the dining table having breakfast with my daughters, I will look as if I am not there, which the girls notice. My mind will drift away, thinking about art, about acting, and about all
sorts of new ideas. l think that is very wrong of me. So it is a kind of struggle that often times I have to keep my work and life in balance. Niki is a natural born fighter. l am a fighter myself to a certain extent. l am curious about what people would see in the ‘Dramatic Trunk’, and how they would relate themselves to this creation.
