A Scene of Heavenly Glory
“For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm, the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them, for they could not stand that which was commanded, “If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned”; and so fearful was the appearance that Moses said, “I am terrified and trembling.” But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels, to the festal gathering and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.” (Hebrews 12:18-24 WEB)
Imagine the passage above as a scene in a movie. The person who wrote the epistle to the Hebrews described it most beautifully.
Picture this with me: a mountain on earth burning with fire, shrouded in blackness and darkness, with lightning streaking and thunder booming all around. This is Mount Sinai when the Old Covenant of the Law was given. A trumpet blast sounds and the voice of God gives a severe warning with a threat of death as two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments appears, floating in front of the screen.
Suddenly, the tablets are snatched away as if by a strong magnetic force and balanced upon Jesus’ hands right before the nails are driven into His hands. As the Roman soldiers hammer the nails down, the stone tablets are also attached to Jesus’ hands at the cross, crucified with Him.
Then, the camera pans upwards, zooming past the clouds. You see Mount Zion, the mountain of God in the distance, and the heavenly Jerusalem sitting upon it, radiating gloriously like a priceless jewel. Reaching a huge pearl gate of the city, the gate rolls aside, and myriads of angels fly across like a flocks of migrating birds, singing beautiful songs.
You see the river of the water of life dividing the city into half, with trees of life on its left and right.
The camera follows the river that proceeds from God’s throne, into His sanctuary at the highest point of the city, and you see the Father seated as judge over all, and standing on His right hand is Jesus smiling and His arms outstretched to welcome you with a loving embrace.
The scene ends with a close up on the ark of the covenant in the sanctuary that has the blood of Christ sprinkled upon the mercy seat, and the camera zooms into just one drop of His blood crying out for your blessing, redemption, forgiveness, favor, healing, restoration, and all good things as the credits roll.
Can someone please turn this video idea into reality? I would if I had the skills and funding to do so!

Fun Facts:
Orchard Road is a famous street in South East Asia, and increasingly across the world. Adorned with stores, malls, eateries and sites, the 2.2km strip is a paradise delight for shoppers and tourists alike. But there are a few things about Orchard Road that are little known, and adding these to your bank of knowledge could quite impress whoever you choose to stroll down the famed boulevard with. It’s not all about shopping and consumerism, there’s a lot more to this historic street in the Lion City.
1. If you perchance to stroll down Orchard Road between around 6:30 to 8:30pm, you may notice that the human species is somewhat outnumbered by another; hundreds and hundreds of birds flock to the famed shopping street in the evening, The Birds
If you perchance to stroll down Orchard Road between around 6:30 to 8:30pm, you may notice that the human species is somewhat outnumbered by another; hundreds and hundreds of birds flock to the famed shopping street in the evening, and their singing of sunset songs can actually become quite a racket. But why are there so many birds? Singapore is actually located right on course of the East Asian-Australasian Flyway – the migrating path of thousands of birds, and the island is an essential stop for the birds to refuel – and what a place to do it! Munching on leftover food, and singing from the many treetops that line the streets are four different species of birds; the Asian Glossy Starling, the Javan Myna, the house crow, and the rock pigeon.
But their presence comes with an unsightly catch – the poop. Executive Director of the Orchard Road Business Association, Steven Goh, is expending much effort and a lot of resources to keep the boulevard clean. For example, up to 3’000 litres of water every night is used to pressure clean the street and rid it of bird poop.
1. What’s in a Name?
The name Orchard Road actually originates from where you might think – it was once lined with orchards! Early in the 19th century it was home to Pepper and Gambier plantations, which years later gave way to Nutmeg and Fruit Orchards.
It’s rumored that a “Mr. Orchard” used to own some of the land at the corner of present-day Scotts Road and Orchard Road, and as lovely as that might be, there doesn’t seem to be much evidence to support it.
1. What Once Was…
As well as fruitful orchards (that sadly diminished mostly due to disease), Orchard Road was also once the location of three cemeteries; a Chinese cemetery, a Sumatran cemetery, and later on, a Jewish Cemetery.
By the 1860’s there were many private houses on Orchard Road, and in the early 1890’s, King Chulalongkorn, King of Siam, acquired “Hurricane House”. Later two pieces of property were added on, and it is now the site of the Royal Thai Embassy, at 370 Orchard Road.
The early 20th Century saw Orchard Road as home to a number of different things including fresh produce markets, car parks, the Orchard Road Railway and the Glutton’s market – where locals would wait for the clock to hit 5pm before setting up a number of stalls selling local cuisines and goodies.
And then in 1958 the Orchard Road that we know now began, with the opening of CK Tang’s Department store – the first and longest-running of its kind on the strip.
1. A Secret Street
Just a hop behind the glamourous Orchard Road, is another awe-inspiring street, but not for any of the same reasons.
Emerald Hill is a little street of terraced houses that feels as though it’s been frozen in time – a stunning display of Chinese Baroque architecture, this little street definitely deserves a little of your time away from Orchard Road.
What was once a nutmeg plantation (which sadly failed due to disease) has since become the home of many-a-wealthy Singaporean, and has even been the mystical setting for many short stories written by pioneer of Singaporean Literature Goh Sin Tub.

One Song a Day - Still(靜止). Translation and song link at the bottom.

Again, this was written for a musical in 2005. Some songs grow in you. Some songs, you would not even realize what you have channeled when you write them. I think this is one of those. I thought I knew about death, I thought I understood the topic enough. The more I lived the more I really realized was: I don’t know anything at all, it was just my arrogance and ego speaking. I still don’t know anything about death, but I know a bit more about living by now.
•
Still
(Chet Lam)
•
Wind blows, clouds flow
Time is still
How the grass and flowers have grown by the stream
Migrating birds have flown away
Leaving this quiet land behind
You can cast your worries aside for a while
•
Fallen leaves are floating towards the distant maintains with the river
How the grass and flowers have died by the stream
Too quiet it’s just a picture
Nothing appears to be different
Time has soothed everything
•
Sometimes a tree falls a piece of sky is opened up
Sometimes a tear falls, take it easy
Sometimes you can hum in your heart if there’s no music
People come and go in silence
Then it becomes quiet as before
•
Wind blows, clouds flow
Time is still
How the grass and flowers have grown by the stream

English cover of Wataridori by Japanese and Alexandros.
According to the band, part of the message of this song is that you can look to others for inspiration, but once the inspirational speech, song, or whatever is over, it's up to you and only you to take action. This resonates with me a lot.
I hope you enjoy the English version :)

I wanna fly so high
Yeah, I know my wings are dried
People are always saying, “Just spread your wings”
But when it’s done, reality has won
Some people soar and the others descend
Nobody spares a glance, no one gives us a chance
That hasn’t stopped me, I’ve kept soaring high
‘Cause I wanna take the words
That have hurt you away into the sky
With our eyes on the future, we’ll fly
Chasing after dreams, making them known
On the nights we seek answers and cry
Our town shines brighter than it’s ever shone
We’ll fly away like we’re migrating birds
Start on a journey
We’ll make sure that our story is heard
Even if it’s a fantasy
I wanna fly so far away with my guitar
Everyone’s always singing, “You are not alone”
I don’t think they’re wrong, or that it’s wishful thought
I just choose not to rely on blind hope
Nobody lends an ear, or even cares to hear
But I have kept on singing my song
‘Cause I wanna make you smile
‘Til the pain that consumes you is gone
I will send you a wind at your tail
Let it guide your way to your rainbow
Throw all yesterday’s burdens away
As I carry you into tomorrow
We’ll fly away like we’re migrating birds
Flocking as one
Our audacious quartet will be heard
‘Til we have played our final song
All this time we come and we grow
And now it's time that we should go
But we both know that this is for sure
It's not the end of the world
Well, see you one day
With our eyes on the future, we’ll fly
Chasing after dreams, making them known
On the nights we seek answers and cry
The bright dawning sun bathes us in its glow
And one day just like we’re migrating birds
We will return here
But only after our story is heard
And then we’ll meet again someday
