I guess I always knew I wanted to be a mum but I wasn't quite sure if I would become a full time one.
After graduating from university, I wanted to at least try to carve my own career in the media industry. Even when the hubby told me that he was going to Sweden for a year, I decided to stay on in Singapore and continue to work. But when a year turned to four years, we then made plans to tie the knot and move there together. That was when I stepped into motherhood and never looked back as a stay-at-home mum.
Like I've said time and again, it's a privilege, not a sacrifice. It was my own choice to stay in this role when we bade farewell to snowy winters and came back to sunny Singapore. To even have a choice and the freedom to pursue my dream with the hubby's support, I am blessed and ever so thankful.
So on days when I am alone with the kids and they make me wonder why I chose this toughest job in the world, I remind myself that it is my good fortune - maybe 前世修来的福 - to have the opportunity and freedom to be here. Right beside these kids that are and will always be a part of me, who are growing up so fast and I might miss their precious milestones if I blink, who I love so deeply to the moon and back and can never describe this love I feel for them.
P.S. This was taken during our first cruise as a family of four when we stopped over in Phuket to enjoy the waves and the sun. Yup, the little sister was just one! Can't wait to go on vacation when the school holidays come and share more updates here. Have a great weekend, people!
