I was off exercising for a good 15 years before I finally decided to start running. At that time, I was 31.

Starting to run again at 31 was tough. I could barely maintain a slow pace for a minute and that got me realising how weak my cardiovascular endurance was. Nothing is easy at the start, I had to stay consistent in my weekly trainings although they were tough. I started running with a running group and that helped as there were buddies who would run along with me.

There's a social movement #MoveIt150 happening and it recommends at least 150 minutes of MVPA (Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activities) a week. Activities like jogging, cycling, swimming are some of the recommended types. And in turn, this helps in promoting a better blood circulation in your body and also prevent heart diseases, among the many benefits of exercising for 150 mins a week!

Many people will say they are too tired to workout on a regular basis, but once you start keeping to a regular routine, the movements will actually boost your energy levels and that is what my workouts do for me. All you need is to set aside 30 minutes daily and you'll get yourself into momentum!

I try to include MVPA once every two days. What is your fitness story? Or how will you encourage me to do better in mine? :D Start your MVPA journey by finding out your preferred activity here: http://bit.ly/betsymoveit150
