Back in the past, this used to be an empty plot of green. Amenities like libraries, polyclinics were strewn in different locations and it was inconvenient to go from one place to the other.

So thank goodness for this area’s glow up! From gyms to a swimming complex and community clubs, everything is now under one roof. I have fond memories of hitting up the library with my friends and then going for a quick round of table tennis since it was just an escalator away. I’ve since moved from this area, but revisiting it rekindled dear memories of my short time here. To me, a community isn’t just the group of people living around me. It’s my second family, with whom I share and foster common interests in 💛

If you told me 5 years ago that I’d be speaking almost weekly, I’d tell you that you’re crazy. I was terrified of public speaking. I sometimes still find it uncomfortable to speak in front of a handful of people I just met.

I tend to overthink things.
What would they think of me? Would they judge me? What if I say the wrong things? What if I strike a nerve? Will they dislike me? 💭

It’s hard to believe but I have those insecurities too. But I do.

And I’m grateful for the opportunities to tell my stories or rather, my mum’s story and how it has shaped me and my purpose in life.

Pursue your dreams now - even when attaining that dream requires you to go out of your comfort zone. Don’t let your fear holds you back. You’re made for this. 💪🏻 Live life to the fullest and eat the cake first, because life’s too short.
