Confession time. I’m not much of a reader. Never have been. In fact, the last book I read cover to cover was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In 2007. But I’m endeavouring to change that, and towards that end, I’m starting with a book where I have an invested self interest given my love for Lily Miss Sunshine, her well-being as well as that of the planet and the beings we share her with - “The Clean Pet Food Revolution” by Ernie Ward, Alice Oven and Ryan Bethencourt. Did you know that companion animals consume the equivalent amount of meat as 26 million Americans, making them as a group the 5th largest country in terms of animal consumption? The implications that has has on the environment and climate change is staggering, not to mention the toll an industry of that magnitude has on the animals victimised and exploited in the process.
