家庭用機に合わせた主な変更点としては、ステージ数が12に変更、画面の広角化、ボムの性能が上昇(主に持続時間)、残機制に変更、自機が交代制からクリアするごとに合流・合体する形式に変更、武装やスピードアップアイテム追加、合体時にフォーメーション変更可等が挙げられる。
BGMは、マーベルランド(MD/'91年)や、これがプロ野球シリーズ等の西村氏、西村京太郎ミステリー ブルートレイン殺人事件(FC/'89年)や、SDガンダム外伝 ナイトガンダム物語2 光の騎士(FC/'91年)等の林氏などトーセのサウンドスタッフ4名による共同編曲で、スローペースだった業務用のもののテンポを上げるアレンジがなされている。
