什麼是 VSaaS (Video Surveillance as a Service)？簡單來說就是攝影機以相對較低廉的價格販售，把儲存或者一些加值服務：比如兒童成長相簿、嬰兒哭聲偵測、縮時錄影、人形/動物偵測、包裹偵測、視訊通話等，按照一次性或者月租方案來收費，用多少付多少(pay as you go)，這就是 VSaaS 這商業模式的精神。
安全監控儲存模式不似過去的(NVRxN+IP Storage)這麼單純了，似乎已經從後端逐漸地往前端(Edge)與雲端(Cloud)移動。
影像監控是智慧家庭中的剛性需求，未來甚麼都上雲已經不是疑問句而是時間問題，硬體產業一直以來服膺的摩爾定律，每18個月價格降一半的規則在 IPCAM/NVR 似乎也是一體適用，但是互聯網與雲端的定律更具有侵略性，所謂的"羊毛出在狗身上，但豬來買單"，VSaaS雖然推起來艱難但是已經被越來越多的消費者接受，硬體趨向免費或者不可思議的低價在所難免。
誰敢說幾年後不會有30~60天循環三年免費的方案，而這個方案剛剛好就打到安全監控產業的最低標30天儲存3年保固之上。
因此，以下幾個趨勢正推動著雲端方案入侵傳統安全監控產業:
- 雲端儲存的”使用成本”逐漸趨近於零
- 頻寬的性價比飛速成長
- 影像品質/比特率(Bit Rate)得出來的數值越來越高
- 影音檔案結構化技術與應用
- 雲端大數據分析所帶來的溢價效應
- 蘋果認真進來玩VSaaS
- 蘋果解決影像監控的資安疑慮
最後兩點都是蘋果？是的，蘋果在前幾天的 WWDC 2021 已經明確地把影像監控的 Mulit-View 拉近 Apple TV 裡面了，準備在家庭 Edge 的 #超級終端 做AI的影音辨識服務，Apple Watch 也可以看到 Doorbell 的即時影像，iCloud+ 也把 VSaaS 的攝影機支持數跟 iCloud 雲端儲存服務綁在一起，而且是不算在儲存空間的限制之內。
這篇文章上半部內容是我 2016 年八月份寫的，技術趨勢看起來也沒有違和感，本以為 VSaaS 在電信商跟有線電視是可以做起來的，自己也實際進入這兩種公司做推動，但最後家庭消費者等級的 SaaS 服務，最終可能還是得站在蘋果這個巨人的肩膀上才有辦法實現.....

香港人使用智能家居日趨普及，相信好多人都會喺屋企安裝智能門鈴來加強安防監控。早前有外國 youtuber 就智能門鈴系統做過比拼測試，結果以 Google Nest Hello video doorbell 為最佳效能。
雖然 Nest Hello表現最好，但係佢喺香港銷售量就唔理想，原因係 Nest Hello 本身要用接駁 wired 使用，安裝方法較為複雜；其次係現時香港只得水貨買到，所以令好多消費者都卻步。今次就請來科技達人石先生教大家如何簡易安裝 Nest Hello。
