191010 夏威夷的10月10號，忙著在各個地方揮舞國旗！早上參加 IRONMAN 鐵人賽前盛大的內褲路跑 👙傍晚去探望夏威夷昔日的國王說聲啊囉哈！中午時間是本日的重頭戲：那就是搭！直！升！機！ 🚁 環大島看風景～

雖然天氣不佳差點取消，但是最後還是順利起飛 🛫️稍稍縮短行程，不過還是有飛到最受歡迎的河谷瀑布！我們選擇了可以拉開機門的直升機，完全就是一個考驗心臟的刺激行程～

Paradise Helicopters的員工非常謹慎專業，安全須知說明得非常詳盡((而且他們看起來很正經))隨後也有機組人員帶我們穿上救生衣背包，走在機場的指定路線上陸續登機！

然後就飛上青天啦！！！！！

噠噠噠噠噠螺旋槳的聲音有多震撼只能等待影音來說明了，中途飛過美呆的海岸、火山岩地區、雨林瀑布、還有超級壯麗的河谷，由於手實在太抖第一時間的照片不足以證明到底有多！美！多！讚！

機師導遊也是導覽得很仔細，除了看到高爾夫球場會跟我們聊 PGA，還指給我們看 Tequila 品牌Patron 老闆的家 😂 ((喔我超愛Patron)) 他不時會來個驚心動魄的大迴旋，讓左右邊的乘客都看得清楚，沒先講真的是差點閃尿，因為天氣不好看不到火山 🌋 機師覺得有點歹勢，就刻意貼近海平面，找到一群郊遊去的海豚 🐬 給我們看，人生中第一次看到這麼大群的海豚～

當然飛行結束後，對於我們的拍照要求，只要在安全範圍內，他們都會盡可能滿足我們的需求 🖤 人生第一次搭乘直升機當然要瘋狂拍拍拍拍拍 📸

這次的夏威夷行已經集滿陸海空，下一個移動方式會是什麼呢？

Dear @joelebosi … it is now time for your ultimate 50th birthday surprise … jeng..jeng..jeng…the hottest helicopter ride on earth!

This has got to be one of the most ultimate photography experience I could think of, for you my shutter-friendly MANager - flying over kīlauea, the world’s most active volcano!
.

I know that this would be a great opportunity to capture the magnificent view of the volcano (and more) and I sure hope you enjoyed it, as much as I did feefeeling perasan I was the co-pilot of the flight.
I am glad we flew with @paradisehelicopters because their heli tour work hand in hand with @hawaiianlegacyforest in their efforts to support environmental and community stewardship.

This includes a first-of-its-kind carbon offset initiative, which allows guests to offset the environmental impact of their flight through the reforestation of endemic trees under the Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative (HLRI).

Paradise also offers complimentary tours for guests who sponsor tree plantings through HLRI.

The sky’s the limit indeed.
You had always wanted to take me to Hawai’i for our honeymoon b.

We are almost a decade away past our honeymoon, but better late than never, yes?

“Remember to bring snacks” ... yes. Food is all I think about. LOL.

If there’s something else that @joelebosi loves, it is mountains and volcanoes.

Mauna Kea is a dormant volcano and is the highest peak in the Hawaiian islands.

When measured from its oceanic base, it is the tallest mountain in the world rising to 13, 796 feet above sea level.

Our tour guide Bear of @arnottslodgeandhikingadventure , was very patient, informative and entertaining. Plus, he was an expert driving us up to the summit safely and in comfort inside his 4wd (some roads were really bumpy and steep!).

We took a break at Mauna Kea’s Visitor Information Station (VIS) to acclimatize to the higher altitude and to cover up. It was getting really cold and windy, and was told, once the sun sets, temperatures would go down drastically more.

With its high elevation, dry environment and stable airflow, Mauna Kea’s summit is one of the best sites in the world for astronomical observation. Azmi felt a bit light-headed upon reaching the summit (which I found out much later), but after a few deep breaths, he was feeling better and propped his camera gear ready to capture the sunset (which was breathtaking to say the least).
It occurred to me now, how different people react to higher altitudes.

I felt a sense of calm here – read up much later that in Hawaiian mythology, this place is very sacred and highly spiritual. I did some meditation and once the sun set, we drove back down to the VIS.

Clocking in at the 9,200 elevation, the VIS provides one of the world’s best places to view the entire expanse of the night sky. Bear then took us to a spot, just a walking distance from the parking lot after we had our hot chocolate drink, to gaze at the stars.

Unlike my starry-eyed husband, I lacked knowledge in the milky way but I enjoyed the experience nonetheless.
