After visiting Az Samad's open mic at The Venue last year, me and my team decided to introduce the idea to Chinese community. And it became a reality since last September. Thank u for your advise n support, Az Samad n Waterfall Yin. Thank u Good Friends Cafe for being supportive always. Was the opening act for October's Open Mic hosted by WinnieHO 何芸妮 =)
I performed 2 songs that I've never performed live before - Love Theme in Pastel Hues and Angin Yang Ganjil. Also performed with my jazz student, Kirsten Long who is a vocalist, pianist, singer-songwriter and teacher! She sang well =)
We also met Alarice, an internationally noted singer-songwriter, who was the featured act for the night.
Really enjoyed all the performances from the open mic acts including students and ex-students of UM, our Podgy & The Banker Barista who performed as Caught Red Handed and Joe.
It was really nice meeting everyone - am really happy some of you came up to talk to me :) And thank you to those who supported and bought my CDs =)
Congratulations to everyone who had a hand in organising this Open Mic - I know it's not easy...from the posters to the promotion to photographers to videographer and to our good host Good Friends Cafe!
ACOUSTIC GUITAR: I performed on a Lowden F-35c Blackwood/Adirondack.
