I used to think I could do tricep dips until I got schooled by @keng.t. at @aspirelife_wellness.
.
Back then, I performed this movement with a lack of awareness. Often felt a strain in my front and side delts or a pinch in my shoulder.
.
Today, glad to say I finally know what a proper tricep dip should feel like. And good lord I feel stronger than ever!
.
Moral of MY story:
Set aside your ego and move with intention. My experience has showed me that focusing on quality training protocols allow us to reconnect with our body and ultimately, our self. Resulting in better movement patterns that reveal strength, potential and the joys of moving pain-free.

Training is meant to be hard, and painful. The fun is in the results. Question is: are you training or exercising?

Do away with the whole #DoItForTheGram mentality. Do it for YOU.

During the start of MCO, I did this program called ‘Squat Holiday’ by @keng.t from @aspirelife_wellness.
.
For 7 days straight, I squatted 3 times a day, close to 700 reps in total, and ate a whole lot of chicken and rice throughout. 😂
.
By far one of the most grueling programs I’ve ever done, but also life changing.
.
The initial goal was simple: to get stronger. The result? I learnt to be FEARLESS.
.
Fearless against:
- the heavy weights
- EATING more than I’m used to
- self-doubt
- the soreness
- the number of reps
.
Ultimately, this set the tone for how I choose to face life’s difficulties and challenges as we all learn to adapt to the #newnorm - unafraid.
.
This is a major shift in my mindset. No longer am I training just for physical strength, aesthetics, competition, skills. I’m training for LIFE.
.
In this video, I had not done any oly lifting in over a month (maybe longer). But I remember feeling strong and confident like never before. This was after Squat Holiday.

Veins are starting to pop up everywhere yet this is NOT even after an upper body workout

In my previous post I mentioned that I have increased my carbs intake during & after training. This has not only resulted in performance improvement from training but also fuller muscles and yes I believe even lower body fat in just a span of weeks
.
InBody 770 (the highest range which is even used for research) will be at @aspirelife_wellness next week onwards. I will share my results and proof how fat loss, muscle gains, improved performance can happen all at the same time through this method I’ve been adopting.
