Surgery done! First one ever...needed this surgery to help my breathing in daily life that I believe will affect all areas of my life. I thought I was going to die when I woke up because it was so difficult to breathe *no joke*. Definitely gonna remember this one...thanks to all the doctors for taking care of me 🙏🏻. Former NBA stars Allen Iverson and Dennis Rodman were in Cixi, Zhejiang earlier this week to scrimmage against the Beijing Ducks, which still has (the newly minted) Stephon Marbury, as part of an eight-game, multi-team tour. One Beijing player said it was a dream to play against AI. Ducks coach Min Lulei, however, had no use for such sentiment. He chided his team in the post-game press conference for not taking the opening game seriously enough, which strikes me as just silly — the Ducks are a month removed from winning the CBA championship, and they haven't practiced together since.
The American team won Game 1 121-104 on Saturday (Iverson scored 11 points), and won Game 2 128-125 on Monday (Iverson did a little better, with 13 points to Marbury's 22). AI will have to do a little better than that if he wants to raise his stock among Chinese teams. As you've no doubt heard by now, he says he's interested in the CBA, replying "why not?" to the question of playing here. Putting up a combined 24 points against star-crossed opponents should make CBA team officials ask: Why?

Siu yuk (Chinese: 燒肉 / 火肉 literally: "roast meat") is a variety of siu mei, or roasted meat dishes, in Cantonese cuisine. It is made by roasting an entire pig with seasoning in a charcoal furnace at high temperature. Roasted pigs of high quality have crisp skin and juicy and tender meat. Usually the meat is served plain, but it is sometimes served with soy sauce or hoisin sauce. When individual pieces are served, it is known as "roasted meat" (Chinese: 燒肉; pinyin: shāo ròu; Cantonese Yale: sīu yuhk). When the entire pig is served, the dish is known as "roasted pig" (Chinese: 燒豬; pinyin: shāo zhū; Cantonese Yale: sīu jyū). In most cases it is referred to by the former term since it is always consumed in small quantities.
Other variations are Hornado in Ecuadorian cuisine, Lechon in Filipino cuisine, and Leitoa a pururuca in Brazilian cuisine.
Peking Duck is a famous duck dish from Beijing that has been prepared since the imperial era. The meat is prized for its thin, crisp skin, with authentic versions of the dish serving mostly the skin and little meat, sliced in front of the diners by the cook. Ducks bred specially for the dish are slaughtered after 65 days and seasoned before being roasted in a closed or hung oven. The meat is eaten with scallion, cucumber and sweet bean sauce with pancakes rolled around the fillings. Sometimes pickled radish is also inside, and other sauces (like hoisin sauce) can be used.
Allen Iverson is on the last leg of the 2012 China Legends Tour, a six city, seven game exhibition tour that has featured Iverson, Clyde Drexler, Dennis Rodman and some D-Leaguers as they’ve traveled around to play Stephon Marbury and the Beijing Ducks and some other Chinese teams. It’s been a big hit with fans and with media, both of whom have been running wild with the idea of A.I. potentially playing professional ball in China next year, a scenario that some teams are apparently interested in realizing.
What happens with that will be settled another day, however. For now, the main focus is finishing up these last two games in the tour’s last city and making it safely back to the comforts of the United States.
That last leg, however, happens to be Taiyuan, Shanxi province. The city is well-known within Chinese basketball for a few reasons: It’s where Marbury got his start in the CBA. It’s where Jim Yardley wrote his book about the Shanxi Zhongyu Brave Dragons and their eccentric owner, Boss Wang. It’s where fans throw water bottles and lighters onto the court at the sound of a blown whistle. It’s also where they block opposing teams’ buses, hurl bricks at it and accuse former players (Marbury) of beating down its fans.
Luckily, Iverson and company likely won’t have to deal with the latter two during their stay. After Michael Jordan and possibly Kobe Bryant, A.I. is easily the most popular all-time NBAer in China. During the trip, he has been met by flocks of fans who wait at airports, hotels, restaurants, promotional events and stadiums with the hope that they can catch a glimpse of their beloved Answer.
