⭐ 這個叉燒一點黃 "鹹蛋釀腩叉" BBQ Pork Charsiu with Salted Duck Egg Yolk Centre HKD $148 🐷. The accompanying sauce is also very well tuned! 【喜萬年酒樓 Asiania Restaurant, Wanchai】One of the Signature must order dishes here for a while, but somehow doesn't get coverages any longer, at least not after Instagram was invented in 2010 😶. In HK there are only about 3-4 restaurants still doing this recipe, half of them shifted the labor intensive item off-menu so u have to reserve 1st.
The current-yet-old 喜萬年, is also very famous for their Roast Suckling Pig. Personally it's not bad but not as good as some of the best I am used to eating in Hong Kong, especially the lack of marination flavor or Roasting fragrance. Those were the good old days 😢..
•Quick question: Did anyone else used to go 喜萬年 years & years ago, when they were at Admiralty 香港警察總部 side? But even in later years in that old location, it was funny to watch it evolving. When I was a kid, this once considered upper end Chinese restaurant next to the night club, didn't even served mainstream Cantonese food 粵菜/廣東菜. Nor was it famous for their so called Suckling Pig 烤乳豬 as yet. The 'food cycles' in Hong Kong haha 😂🤔 But I am curious if any eaters remembered the type of original cuisine & recipes they used to serve here too, I do a little bit, so it's good to discuss with someone from that epoch! 睇下有無人係喜萬年第一代年代, 仲未開始 serve 廣東菜時嘅食友 🤭🤭?

Welcome to Hong Kong with Auntie Lilly! This is in fact, my long overdue post about my last trip to Hong Kong visiting my youngest daughter Dr Clarrisha in September 2019 last year. 🇭🇰🇭🇰

Missed travelling & missing my daughters even more, so writing these travel blogs does help & let me reminisce about those happy moments spent with them! 😍😍
.
一點心 One Dim Sum at Prince Edward in Mongkok is famous & best known for their authentic traditional recipes of serving Cantonese dim sum for many years in Hong Kong. 😋😋

This ex-Michelin Star dim sum restaurant in 2011 & 2012 serves one of the cheapest dim sum in town. Therefore, it's also my daughter Carmen's favourite haunts for delicious & affordable dim sum in Hong Kong where you get to eat all the dim sum you want without burning a hole in your pocket. 🥟🥟
.
With prices starting from HKD 18 onwards, indulge in an extensive set of dim sum options from steamed, fried & various new combination of a modern & traditional dim sum with more than 40 items to choose from including Steamed, Fried or Baked dim sum, Steamed Rice Rolls, Steamed Rice, Congee & dessert. 👍👍

Believe it or not, 【Yung Kee 鏞記 Hong Kong 🇭🇰】has quietly been super famous for their '牛腩 Beef Brisket' dishes, for so long that it's almost forgotten by newer generations. Some in fact consider it the No. 1 renditions in Hong Kong & in a way I concur, if judged under their respective aimed recipes:
_
•五香牛腩湯麵 Braised Beef Brisket with 5 Spices Noodles HKD $70 😍
_
•極品清湯牛爽腩 Beef Brisket in Clear Soup HKD $280. The part of local Beef Brisket used is near the Skirt, the best part from the 崩沙腩 腩角位. The soup takes 4 hours to make, using also Beef Neck & Beef Shoulder, Turnips & other ingredients. This is limited per day, I heard around 10 Orders daily, one struggles to find a better rendition in HK. 😍
__
During the Covid-19 period note that dishes are even more limited due to reduced patrons. i.e. Ever since pandemic started, Yung Kee doesn't serve 紅燒乳鴿 or 炸子雞 anymore, as those need precisely 1 day pre-preparation with Marination & Air Drying when done as per Tradition, but also can't be kept til the 3rd day 😐🙅🏻♂️ @ 鏞記酒家 Yung Kee Restaurant

Hello friends! Today we're going to share with you how to make juicy oven-baked smoked BBQ ribs at home.
Copying and practicing a recipe from a famous restaurant is the most challenging thing, but it is very interesting and we learn new things from it. In this video, we copied the taste of the famous pepper ribs, but made some modifications, because some ingredients are not found in this city. Chili’s slow-cooked pork ribs has been a top seller on the menu since 1986 and is still the best seller today. So this is a must try.
To make smoked flavor BBQ ribs without a smoker, we slow cook in the oven, and make the Chili's BBQ sauce with smokey chipotle in adobo, or it can be made by liquid smoke instead. The flavor is found in the sauce, and the cooking secret is slow-braising which can keep the meat juicy and tender like the original. You can use the barbecue sauce suggested in the recipe below or use your favorite homemade or store-bought sauce. Hope you like it. Enjoy. :)

Hello friends! Today we're going to share with you how to make the classic chocolate milkshake with real sugar and high quality bittersweet chocolate.
Milkshake is a classic nostalgic and ultimate in retro comfort food. They became a common part of youth popular culture and a symbol of the youth. They are calorie-rich drinks but super yummy.
Actually it’s easy to make at home. In this video, the copycat recipe is from Shake Shack, which is the most famous restaurant in the United States. Their burgers get all the praise, but the shakes are really good, too. Especially the chocolate milkshake (black and white shake). Good news is you don’t need to visit the restaurant, if you have this classic Shake Shack easy chocolate milkshake recipe on hand.
In this recipe, the fudge sauce is the secret of the perfect taste. Always use real sugar and high quality bittersweet chocolate to make it. The fudge sauce is similar to French chocolate ganache. There's so many uses for this, like to use it as topping for ice cream, or drizzle for cake. Also we prepare another delicious Oreo milkshake for kids. Since now is summer.
Ready to make your own high quality milkshake? You need just a few ingredients and several minutes to mix in your blender. Just do it. Cheers.

This Tapioca Express was very easy yet delicious with nice chewy texture 💖

カルディでは500円くらいでもっと安かったです。
Any famous boba tea place? Let me know 😋
I did not really like Tapioca for many years but recently I had a quite good Tapioca milk tea at a local restaurant and got interested in making it at home. hehe
---------------------------------
How to Make Tapioca Bubble Tea
Difficulty: VERY Easy
Time: 60min
Number of servings: 2 servings
This Tapioca product is 4 servings so maybe you want to double the Tea recipe.
Tapioca is perfect for Ice cream topping as well.
You can save Tapioca in the freezer, defrost at room temperature to use.
Ingredients:
1 box Tapioca Express (おうちでタピオカ)
2 earl grey tea bags (or any favorite flavor is OK)
1 cup (240ml) hot water
1 cup (240ml) milk
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
Directions:
1. Use a big spouted measuring cup, pour some hot water over the tea bags and leave for about 15~30 minutes.
2. Remove the tea bags, mix in granulated sugar, and cool in the fridge.
3. Meanwhile, put Tapioca in boiling water and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir immediately to avoid them sticking to the bottom of the pot.
4. Stop the heat, cover, and steam for 20 minutes. Pour tapioca into a sieve and rinse with cold running water.
5. Mix cold tea and cold milk together.
6. Put some Tapioca in a glass, pour some tea to finish.
