What an honor and a privilege to take this little big girl to meet YB Hannah Yeoh at last night’s townhall at The Story Book.
As she talked about the challenges faced in “Becoming Hannah”, teaching conviction as a mama and as a leader in Parliment, trusting God and doing the right thing even if it’s not always the “popular” thing, I was in awe.
But more so than that, watching all the little girls in the audience that someday will grow up with glass ceilings broken and people in power believing in them?
Oh my heart. 😭❤️😭❤️
We asked what success would look like at the end of her term and she spoke eloquently, passionately, and honestly about championing and protecting the little children.
Recently, there was a little boy that was found in a freezer after he was murdered by his babysitter. His mama did everything she could do to vet the babysitter but there just wasn’t a registry or any sort of policy nor regulation in place to make sure that the babysitter was licensed, equipped, capable, safe, other than word of mouth and an interview. The system failed this little boy.
Hannah’s response to a grieving friend in the audience?
“The coroner asked if I wanted to see him and I chose to because I wanted to remember.
Put into policy. Amend the law. Regulate nanny services. Start a children registry.”
That little boy is my Ella Grace and your little one.
His name was Adam and he was five months old.

I cannot even convey to you what it means as a mama who chose to stay and chose to come back and chose to raise our little big girl in Malaysia (and all the flak for it) to know that there is someone looking out for her.
We just finished shooting a Merdeka campaign yesterday, Ella Grace picked our bright so red matching outfits.
This is our Malaysia.
She wanted to meet the lady we voted for because our voting experience was one of the best adventures of her life. Every time we pass by that school, she retells the story of 9 May 2018.
Thank you YB Hannah for what you do and how you believe and the courage to do the right thing, from a mama and her teeny tiny that wants to dream big dreams.
