▍挺台參議員馬侃辭世
共和黨亞利桑那州參議院議員馬侃（John McCain）在對抗腦癌逾一年之後，昨天家人宣布放棄癌症治療，今天當地時間8月25日逝世。
馬侃出生軍事背景，最為人傳頌的事蹟就是在越戰時的一次轟炸任務中被擊中，身受重傷並成為戰俘，儘管被北越嚴刑逼供，但卻仍拒絕提供情報。
1982年進入國會從政之後，主要專攻外交、國防相關的領域。為了表彰他長期對於美軍的支持，前陣子川普簽署通過的《2019國防授權法》就別以馬侃（John McCain）冠名，不過馬侃曾在川普競選時批評過他，川普在壯堡基地的簽署儀式中，完全沒提到馬侃的名字。
馬侃對台友好，去年6月與多名美國聯邦參議員聯名致函川普，呼籲重視台灣關係法並勿推遲對台軍售。蔡英文2015年訪美時，曾與馬侃會面；而隔年馬侃也率領代表團訪台，與已當選總統的蔡英文見面。
