A relative newcomer to the Penang burger scene, Lip's Burger sets up in one of the busiest food courts in the neighborhood of Paya Terubong. Unlike the typical Burgers, there will be no patties but instead... real, fatty and juicy meat. The meats are fresh and carefully marinated by the proprietor; expect no big and overwhelming menu but a simple, straight-forward one. Prices are typically lower than restaurants but given that it is housed in a food court, there are plenty of options for your dining partners.

The owner cum chef, John Fugu had previously worked in various hotels and fine dining restaurants for 15 years before setting out on his own 👨‍🍳 By utilizing his knowledge and professional cooking experience, he has developed a simple yet effective menu that appeals to everyone 👍

His signature burger, the Chezburger 🍔 is simply a must try. It is prepared with a homemade ribeye patty topped with caramelized onion jam, mustard pickle mayo and tomato that is sandwiched between a custom made bun.

For those who can't take beef, we recommend trying the Hail Caesar which is one of the best grilled chicken burgers we have ever had. Despite being made from 100% chicken breast meat, the lean patty is incredibly tender and juicy 🤤

And out of respect for good and quality burgers, you won't find any chili sauce or ketchup being used here.

In this episode, we went down to Chir Cafe+Bar to destroy a Cheesy Fondue Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich Challenge! Chir Cafe+Bar, located in Holland Village, serves Korean-Western fusion food in creative ways like Bulgogi Cream Pasta and Chir Chicken Croffle. It just opened at the beginning of this year, with a very chic and stylish décor.

For my challenge, I requested for a mega-sized Fondue Chicken Burger. Normally, it is served with one whole deep-fried chicken thigh sandwiched between a brioche bun and smothered in a cheesy sauce. Mine came with 10 chicken thighs, reaching 13.5 inches, and drenched in jugs of cheesy goodness. It was so high that it was difficult to keep upright.

I usually sip steadily during my challenges, but this burger was so delicious that I took my first sip only after the 8th thigh. Each piece of meat was thick, well-marinated and juicy. The cheese sauce added a pleasant tang and sweetness to the rich meat. I wanted to do it fast at first, but I really took my time to enjoy the burger instead after realizing how enjoyable it was.

While I would strongly recommend the Fondue Chicken Burger, we also sampled the breadth of their menu with interesting and tasty dishes like the Butternut Pumpkin Tartine and the Bulgogi Cream Pasta. Do visit Chir Café+Bar for their unique spin on Asian-Western cuisine!

Ini kali kedua aku jejak kan kaki di KB Burger Bakar yang terletak di Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Dulu aku tengok kedainya lain, kitchen di bahagian luar agak berserabut sedikit jika nak masuk ke dalam kedai.

Tapi sekarang dah maju. Kitchen dah upgrade, menu dah makin power. DUlu ada makanan-makanan Thai tapi sekarang dah scrap semuanya dan diganti dengan western food dan Italian food yang lebih advanced. Aku bukan nak puji lebih-lebih tapi itulah apa yang aku nampak berlaku di KB Burger Bakar.

Burger diorang dah makin PADU. Serious. Tukang masak sekarang lebih berpengalaman dan efisien. Aku paling suka Smokey Meat burger diorang. Beef Patty tu homemade, bukan macam fast food kat luar sana.

Overall aku sangat berpuas hati dengan makanan yang ada disini.
