Gai gai (街街) refers to going for a leisurely walk..
It’s a word we tell @dearbbkai everytime we bring him out.. As the things started to opening up slowly and almost back to normal, we took a courage to bring baby out weekly, capturing more moments because he grows up rapidly!
Happy to be able to witness his milestones as i still working from home for half of the week.. As you can see from IG stories now @dearbbkai able to rolls over, need to be extra cautious now..
Some of you asked me how me and hubby manage to take care newborn while working full time without any help.. We didn’t hire helper and our Moms are staying overseas, so we have no choice to take care baby on our own.. It’s not that hard to be honest, we both need to be very hands-on and have to get use do thing efficiently.. So if you are on the same situation like me, especially due to this pandemic you can’t get any help, don’t worry too much!
📍Chijmes
CHIJMES (pronounced "chimes", acronym definition: Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus and ‘MES’ was added intentionally to make it sounds like chimes) is a historic building complex in Singapore.
The complex was used as a Catholic convent since 1852, with an acquired Caldwell House which was constructed in 1840–1841, an acquired Convent Orphanage house in 1855, the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus Chapel in 1904 and an acquired hotel complex for the girls' school in 1933. The Caldwell House, currently a wedding venue, and the Gothic-style chapel, renamed as CHIJMES Hall, currently a function hall and also a wedding venue, have both been gazetted as national monuments. The complex has been restored in 1996 for commercial purposes as a dining, shopping and entertainment centre with ethnic restaurants, shops and a function hall, providing a backdrop for musicals, recitals, theatrical performances and weddings. Experience Holy Week in Spain, the annual Catholic tribute of the Passion of Christ. The brotherhoods carry massive thrones through the streets to prove their devotion. This short film is an up-close look at this emotionally-charged event. A huge thanks to the brotherhoods who helped with this production.

I love Taiwan! I have lived here twice: once in the mid-1970s as a Mormon missionary; and now as chief of AIT Kaohsiung. I have seen so many positive changes in Taiwan since my first time on this beautiful island. In fact, the only thing that seems not to have changed is the warmth and friendliness of Taiwan’s people. Kaohsiung is a great place to live! It’s a vibrant, exciting city, the gateway to southern Taiwan, which has so much to offer: from the beautiful Pacific coast of Taitung, to Alishan in Chiayi; from the bustling port of Kaohsiung, to the historic city of Tainan; from the idyllic farm fields of Pingtung to the incredible undersea life of Penghu. I have seen all this and more. I like traveling in Taiwan. I’ve taken taxis, buses, subways, light-rail trains, regular trains, high-speed trains, propeller planes, and jet planes. And I’ve driven my own car and pedaled my own bicycle. And of course I’ve walked. And sometimes, walking is the best. Whether it’s a stroll along the Love River after dinner watching the sun set over Longevity Mountain, exploring the art and shops of Pier Two and eating a brown sugar ice cream cone, or climbing to Cijin Lighthouse and taking in the amazing view of the harbor and all of the ships offshore, walking in Kaohsiung one finds beauty and surprises around every corner. My religion plays a big role in my life. I attend church every week, and participate in many church-sponsored social and charitable activities. That’s why I truly appreciate the religious freedom, diversity, and tolerance that exist in Taiwan. My Mormon chapel sits across the Hsing-fu Canal from a Taoist temple, and it’s only a short distance from the oldest Catholic church in Taiwan, the Holy Rosary Cathedral. Buddha Light Mountain is just a 30-minute drive from my home. And I’ve seen the chapels of other Christian denominations, Muslim mosques, and the Confucian Temple in Zuoying. People of all faiths coexist peacefully in Taiwan, and that is truly a blessing. When my tour in Kaohsiung ends this summer, I will truly miss this amazing island called Taiwan! — Bob
