What is a better way to gather and socialize than having hotpot during this auspicious Chinese New Year? For one great hotpot experience, make your way to Guo Hao Liao 锅好料 at Leith Street. The new hotpot specialist in town offers healthy, home-cooked Cantonese-styled hotpot soup bases (a mix of local flavors and unique combinations) with plenty of premium, fresh hotpot ingredients. The setting is stylishly modern… dressed in shades of white with casual, comfortable seating. The place is fully air-conditioned and offers a great atmosphere for a gathering over hotpot. There are 3 individual VIP rooms- 1 with in-house karaoke system (min spending of RM800) and 2 rooms without (min spending of RM500).
Apart from hotpot, the restaurant also rolls out its lunch menu, which consists of Pork Soup Yam Rice, Poached Spring Chicken, Black Vinegar Pork Trotter, Stir Fried Clams with Ginger and Scallions, Stir Fried Water Spinach and Stir Fried Romaine. There is a selection of side dishes as well. The Lunch menu is only available from 11 am to 2 pm daily (note: hotpot menu is also available during lunch).
It is noteworthy that Guo Hao Liao is opening throughout Chinese New Year (no rest days). It is also having a promotion for its diners- spend a minimum of RM300 (or more), diner shall entitle for a VIP card in which there will be 10% for future dining, a complimentary bottle of wine (next visit) and birth-month voucher (25% discount and a complimentary birthday cake).

🎯 Korean Bibimbap ( BFHH Child Friendly Version )🎯
1. Green
- blanch spinach in hot water and dip in cold water. Cut after this process and season with sesame oil and toasted sesame seeds.
2. Orange
- add a tsp of salt to shredded carrot, let it 'sweat' for 15mins. Squeeze out the excess water and sauté in pan till soft. No seasoning required.
3. Brown
- lightly soak dry mushroom till soft. Don't over soak to preserve the flavour. Cut in small slices and sauté till fragrant. U may add some soya sauce.
4. Yellow
- beat two eggs in bowl and add some fish sauce to taste. Pan fry and cut into pieces.
5. Black
- shredded seaweed
6. Kimchi
- a must have for Korean cuisine. My girls love kimchi. Optional if can't take the spiciness.
7. Beef
- marinate grass-fed beef slices w some fish sauce, soya sauce, sesame oil and a pinch of sugar for min 30 mins. Prepare a bowl of seasoning sauce with half bowl of water, 2 tbsp of soya sauce,a tbsp of sugar and sesame oil. Sauté onion till soft, add minced garlic, pour in some Chinese white rice wine and add in the beef. Add the seasoning sauce once beef changes colour. Off fire right after sauce boiling. Sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds.
Next,heat the craypot and coat a layer of sesame oil, add in rice. As my girls will not take the bibimbap with Korean chili sauce, I add the beef juice to the rice. Arrange the 7 elements on rice to create a a nice color palette. Top a poached egg in the center.
Easy to prepare even though each element needs to work on separately. A healthy and yummy dish! Definitely impressive to serve!

1件潮州豆腐潤 1 piece of firm tofu
半茶匙蔴油 1/2 tsp Sesame oil
蒜蓉一湯匙 1 TBS minced garlic
醬汁材料:
芝蔴醬四湯匙 4 TBS Sesame sauce
鎮江醋兩湯匙 2 TBS Zhenjiang vinegar
白醋三湯匙 3 TBS White vinegar
鹽半茶匙 1/2 tsp Salt
兩湯匙白糖 2 TBS Sugar
一湯匙辣椒油(有渣嘅) 1 TBS Chilli oil (with flakes)

150g 新豬肉 150g Omnipork
15g 亁木耳 15g Dried black fungus
30g 乾冬菇 (4隻) 30g Dried Shiitake mushroom (x4)
2片厚切姜 (拍鬆) 2 thick slices of ginger (gently crushed)
三個紅蔥頭 3 shallots
1湯匙老抽 1 TBS Dark soy sauce
1 茶匙麻油 1 tsp sesame oil
1 隻雞蛋 1 egg
30g 馬蹄粉加3湯匙水 30g Water chestnut powder mix with 3 TBS water
30g 粉絲 30g Bean vermicelli
新豬肉調味料 Omnipork marinade
1茶匙生抽 1 tsp soy sauce
1茶匙生粉 1 tsp potato starch
1/4 茶匙胡椒粉 1/4 tsp ground pepper
1茶匙麻油 1 tsp sesame oil
