趁週末來到離聖地牙哥約一小時車程的“聖胡安-卡皮斯特若拉教堂”（Mission San Juan Capistrano），也俗稱“燕子教堂”，傳說是當時傳教士發現有燕子在教堂的屋檐下築巢，並帶來越來越多的燕子從南方歸來。在《聖經》里，燕子在屋檐下築巢是上帝祝福的一個象徵，因而得名。
教堂史建於1797年，毀於1812年的加州大地震，是當時西班牙為了要開拓北美洲而建立的聚落。雖然主教堂大部分已損毀，但厚實高聳的城牆和莊嚴的彌撒堂，還是能感受到建築的肅穆與震撼感。
在聖誕節慶期間，園區佈有聖誕樹、蝴蝶結、和蠟燭等裝飾，晚上也會亮起美麗的燈飾點綴，氣氛非常溫馨，很值得一看！
