This morning, I woke up to the clicking sound of the stove igniter followed by the fragrant smell of sunny-side up eggs.
Apparently, the kids were busy cooking up a storm and executing a surprise which they had been planning since the start of the year.
They presented us with this tray of beautifully laid out gifts - handmade cards, a rose, two bears, a notebook with a heart shaped pendant, a jar of saga seeds and a cute ornament that says "I ❤ you". Sure, other than the cards, the other things were gathered from all corners of the home. But, it's always the thought that counts, right? The cards already melted my heart because I am one who loves personalised messages and appreciates anything handmade. The sisters also taught the little brother to spell and he wrote a lovely message on the board too. In fact, all three of them woke earlier than us and didn't disturb us but closed our door so we could sleep a little longer. Awwww.
We had a lovely breakfast that consisted of eggs, ham, tomatoes, fruits, yoghurt and salad. Swipe to see the girls' creative presentation.
The day went on as per usual and was still filled with bickers, nagging and tantrums, but it was also full of love, joy and pure family bliss. We ended off the night with a cake cutting ceremony thanks to the hubby who bought one of the last cakes from the bakery and also gave me a beautiful drawing of us with the numbers 1 and 2 written on our faces. Thanks for the effort! The kids sang the birthday song but changed it to "Happy Anniversary to Papa and Mama", how cute.
If this is not 幸福, I don't know what is. Thank you all for making me feel extra loved and special today. ❤ It is definitely a happy day that will be treasured.
