The View Restaurant located inside Hotel Equatorial Penang. A fine dining restaurant pioneer French cuisine with paranomic view of Penang coastline.
Semi buffet served with every main dish order, price starting from RM145 to RM220. Pretty reasonable as semi buffet offer great variety of delicious food.
On semi buffet, appetizers served various type of salad and whole cheese. Prawn, Mussel, Scallop are available as well, if you are oyster lover then you will get fill up evem before your main dish. Both of us dont eat oyster actually but we end up eating 6 oyster. It is so fresh and delicous.
After finish our appetizers, soup of the day will be served follow by sorbet before our main dish.
Honey Walnut Crusted Chicken RM145, i am quite disappointed with the waitress understanding of their menu as i purposely confirm whether it is chicken breast or drum stick. She is very confirm that it is a drum stick but end up we are getting chicken breast. Anyhow, although it is chicken breast but nevertheless it still taste good, the skin is perfectly coated with walnut crust that has a sweet taste, inside chicken breast are filled with vegetable and goat cheese. Since goat cheese has strong flavor so only those who like goat cheese will enjoy it else you will find the taste too strong.
Classic French Steak Frites RM180, Austria Rib Eye with Wine Jus. The steak look pretty dry at first but cutting through the steak is effortless, very soft texture. The beef taste pretry good especially the wine jus that has a hint of sweetness. A stack of cube potato is almost wasted as we are too fill up with appetizers.
After main dish we return to Semi Buffet for dessert and fruits. Dessert taste pretty good and i would rate above average for overall dessert.
After dessert they served us with 2 white chocolate coated ice cream. OMG, 2 round of dessert.
It was a pleasant experience dining at The View, it will be perfect experience if they can sort out chicken breast vs drum stick and a cup of coffee after dessert definitely help us to rate 101%.
