This is for someone who feels like he or she is drowning.
“Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God, out of the fish’s belly. He said, “I called because of my affliction to Yahweh. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice. For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me. I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’ The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head. I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever: yet have you brought up my life from the pit, Yahweh my God. “When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Yahweh. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple. Those who regard lying vanities forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to Yahweh.” Yahweh spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.” (Jonah 2:1-10 WEB)
Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by your challenges and it feels like you’re sinking deeper and deeper without any way of escape.
You may be so stressed out that you feel suffocated and trapped.
The beauty of Jonah chapter 2 is that you see Jonah sinking down and down until he reached the bottom of the sea, but suddenly there’s a turning point.
He seems to stop going down and becomes still when He remembers Yahweh (Jesus).
Then he rises up and is vomited back onto dry land.
Dear brethren, if you feel like you’re sinking, remember Jesus and call upon Him for help.
No matter how deep you are in the sea, your faint whispered prayer can still reach His sanctuary in Heaven. You’re not too far beyond His help.
“If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me.” (Psalms 139:9-10 WEB)
Jonah ended his monologue with a declaration that salvation belongs to Yahweh (Jesus).
Salvation doesn’t belong to anything or anyone else. Nothing and no one can save you like Jesus can.
Your fleshly self-efforts are like a metal ball-and-chain tied around your ankles—tiring you out and dragging you lower.
When you give up trying to save yourself, Jesus will quickly pull you out of those deep waters.
If you’ve been consistently going down, there’s good news—the next step is to go up!
Quickly call upon Jesus and He will save you from trouble now.
What does Jesus’ original Hebrew name Yeshua mean? It means Yahweh saves or salvation.
His main mission and identity is to be your Savior, and He is mighty to save!
In my new book “Messiah’s Miracles—The Power of Having Faith in Jesus Christ”, I expound on every one of Jesus’ 37 recorded miracles in the four gospels.

- Michael Clark, Highly Sought-After Preacher in USA
“Thank you, Milton for the anointed sharing of the 37 miracles of Jesus. Right from the 1st miracle, God dropped fresh revelations of His heart to me. It wasn't head knowledge that I experienced. I felt His personality, His loving heart's intents towards me. On top of that, there's also revelation of His healing power. Praise Jesus for transforming my heart and bringing me closer to Him through Milton's sharing.”

down to earth chapter 139 在 Milton Goh Blog and Sermon Notes Facebook 的最佳貼文
“Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but, behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. You hem me in behind and before. You laid your hand on me. This knowledge is beyond me. It’s lofty. I can’t attain it. Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there! If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me; the light around me will be night”; even the darkness doesn’t hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness is like light to you.” (Psalms 139:1-12 WEB)
I love Psalm 139. It’s one of David’s most beautifully written ones.
It talks about the omnipresence (able to be everywhere) and omniscience (all-seeing) of Yahweh (the pre-incarnate Jesus) and how He uses that power for our benefit.
Jesus uses all His strength to help us because we are His beloved.
He knows every thought in our heart. You don’t have to be pretentious before Him. You can speak frankly because He already knows what you’re truly feeling or thinking.
In David’s psalms you can read how he frankly admits his faults, fears and worries, before asking God to deal with all his enemies.
When we tell Jesus our problems, it’s not just to rant. It’s knowing that He is the only one who can solve the problems and defeat our enemies.
When you’re real with Him, you can freely cast your troubles into His hands—what you give to Him will never remain the same.
Are you traveling far from home and worried about your safety? Relax, everything on Heaven and earth is clear to Jesus.
His eyes attentively follow you wherever you go and His mighty angels guard you in all your ways.
Are you being secretly bullied or tormented by wicked people? Don’t worry if you’ve been praying and no help seems to be coming.
The deepest darkness is as bright as noonday to Jesus. He clearly sees and knows what you’re going through.
You’re His beloved and He will never allow you to go through more than what you can bear.
Your deliverance is on its way, it shall happen in due season.
Your enemies will be dismayed when Jesus does something to break their power right when they think they’re going to win.
“Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16 WEB)
Our Lord Jesus is never late—He is right on time by His perfect knowledge.
He is your ever-present source of help in your time of need.
Call upon His name and be conscious of His omnipresence and omniscience working in your favor!
