The first whiff will strike fear, but one bite... Enlightenment!
Waldo recalls his fear of the pungent snack and the enlightenment that occurred after finally tasting it. “What else am I missing out on?” He thought to himself. It’s astounding how people can have such a range of opinions on the same thing--certainly our perspectives cannot be the same! How can we change that? The way Waldo sees it, people tend to pass judgement without attempting to fully understand the unknown. This song encourages the listener to open their minds and try new things, with the hope that our world becomes more interconnected and harmonious.
Waldo not only penned and rapped the lyrics, he even directed and edited the music video himself! Dallas teamed up with a Kiwi stuntman, Marcus Blackburn, to make stunning visuals by mixing rap and drift racing stunts. Most shots were referenced from BMW commercials, Fast & Furious drag races, and other infamous music videos. The beat was composed by a Taichung producer, Huangfu. Waldo also got some help from MC Stretch--the official MC of the world’s most infamous music festival, Tomorrowland--to narrate the introduction of Stinky Tofu.
