我在一手車訊雜誌社擔試車編輯超過10年，除了寫試車稿外，還必須開一手好車，其中包括車輛測試，例如直線加速測試。特別是測試到大馬力的手排車，要測試他們的0-100km/h及0-400m就相當不容易，像是放離合器的技巧，要控制輪胎的打滑程度，注意扭力轉向，在油門跟輪胎打滑之間去抉擇而得到一個最快的成績，我曾經把測試車輛的傳動軸扭斷過，也曾經遇過馬力大到無法測試，就是不斷的空轉，各種五花八門的狀況幾乎都遇到過，但說實在的兩輪機車的直線加速測試遠比汽車的難度高出太多太多，摩托車的直線加速要考慮到前輪浮舉問題，如果沒有發生浮舉就是後輪空轉，後輪空轉的扭動除了車輛的加速受到影響外，他的不穩定狀態更有可能到導致摔車或是衝出路面，當然還有可能是離合器直接燒毁，我自己騎過不少重機，說真的最好、最容易做出直線加速的還是VMAX而不是Hayabusa或者是R1

ホンダ・CBX（シービーエックス）は、本田技研工業が1978年に発表し、翌年より海外への輸出が開始されたオートバイ。
当時の輸出市場で人気絶頂を誇ったカワサキのZ1000を性能のみならずイメージやメカニズムも含めて打ち負かす、最強のフラッグシップとなるべくして開発された。最大の特徴となる排気量1047ccの空冷直列6気筒DOHC24バルブエンジンは、往年のGPレーサー「RC166」を模したもの。6連装の28φCVキャブレターを装備し、オーバー100psとなる105psを達成。モーターのようなエンジンフィールと、ジェット機と評された独特の排気音で人気を集めた。
元々はワークスレーサーイメージのスーパースポーツとして開発された車両であったが、大柄な車体と重量、採用されていたダイヤモンドフレームの剛性不足などからスポーツモデルとして大成功とは言えなかった。しかし6気筒エンジンをできるだけコンパクトにまとめるべく採用された背面式のジェネレーターや各部に採用されたジュラルミン製鍛造パーツなどは、後のマシン開発に受け継がれた。
