This one’s dedicated to the two students who were assaulted in Hobart, Australia for wearing masks in a supermarket last month. One of them, from Hong Kong, was taunted and punched in the face and was told “you’ve got the virus” and to "go back to your country". Instead of drawing unnecessary attention, wearing a face mask should be considered positive behaviour - it’s an extra protective layer for the person wearing it and for people around them. I’ve rendered all portraits in this series with people in face masks for this reason.
