Koei Tecmo ผู้จัดจำหน่าย และ Omega Force ทีมพัฒนา ออกมาเผยโฉมแรกของ Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires อย่างเป็นทางการแล้ว หลังจากที่มีเหตุให้ต้องเลื่อนวางจำหน่าย จากเดิมที่ตั้งเป้าจะมาช่วงต้นปีนี้

Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires เป็นหนึ่งในเกมซีรีส์ Musou ที่ผู้เล่นจะฟาดฟันกับข้าศึกนับร้อยนับพัน ซึ่งจะเป็นภาคแยกออกมาที่ดำเนินเรื่องในส่วนของซีรีส์ Empires ต่อ หลังจากห่างหายไป 7 ปี
.
และนอกจากตัวเกมแบบ Standard แล้ว ก็ยังมีเวอร์ชัน 20th Anniversary BOX วางขายในราคา 16,280 หรือประมาณ 4,600 บาทอีกด้วย โดยจะได้รับของดังนี้
- ตัวเกมหนึ่งชุด
- หนังสือครบรอบ 20 ปี รวมตัวละครไว้มากถึง 94 คน
- เซ็ตการ์ดตัวละครทั้ง 94 คน (มีแสตนด์ให้)
- Original Soundtrack CD (2 แผ่น)

ส่วนผู้ที่สั่งจองล่วงหน้า ไม่ว่าจะเป็นแพลตฟอร์มใดก็ตาม ก็จะได้รับ “Zhao Yun Set” ซึ่งจะสามารถใช้ได้กับตัวละครชายในโหมดแก้ไขตัวละครของเกม
