台灣農訪團日前赴美採購價值約37億美元農產品，並於9月18日在美國國會舉行採購意向書簽署儀式，美國國務院亞太助卿史達偉（David Stilwell）特別出席活動支持美台之間的經濟合作。台灣農訪團展現了貿易如何將美台聯繫在一起，台灣一半以上的食物是仰賴進口，而美國是最大的供應國。台灣仰賴美國進口安全、可靠和營養豐富的食品，美國的農民也依賴穩定的外國市場來銷售產品。本次高規格的接待凸顯了美台雙邊雙贏的貿易關係。
台灣農訪團也在隨後拜訪了11個州，獲得熱情的接待。我們希望農訪團在本次旅途中也能盡情享受美國的文化，也許可以在懷俄明州夏安市有名的店「Wrangler」買牛仔靴，然後再去高原牧場上看牛。#AITat40 #FoodandBeverageMonth
The Taiwan Agricultural Goodwill Mission recently sealed a US$3.7 billion deal on Capitol Hill on September 18. David Stilwell, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, attended the signing ceremony to show his support for the economic ties between Taiwan and the United States. The Agriculture Goodwill Mission shows how trade binds the United States and Taiwan together. Taiwan imports more than half its food and the United States is the biggest supplier. Taiwan depends on safe, dependable and nutritious food from the United States, while U.S. farmers depend on stable foreign markets to sell their products. The high-level reception received by the delegation shows that our trade relationship is a win-win situation for both Taiwan and the United States.
Members of the group were later welcomed with open arms in 11 different U.S. states following the visit to the capital. We hope they also soaked up American culture on their trip – maybe even buying some cowboy boots at the famous “Wrangler” store in Cheyenne, Wyoming before heading out to see the cows in their high plains pasture.
