【#臺美友好 四十不惑】
On this day 40 years ago, the Taiwan Relations Act was enacted and ever since it has ensured #peace in the Taiwan Strait and taken the US-Taiwan #partnership from strength to strength on the basis of their shared interests and values.
Yesterday, President 蔡英文 Tsai Ing-wen spoke in a video conference with representatives from major US think tanks, on a range of important issues including Taiwan-US relations and regional security👷♂️👷♀️. On the same day, the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs passed the Taiwan Assurance Act of 2019 and a resolution reaffirming the United States' commitment to #Taiwan and the Taiwan Relations Act.
40年前的今天，#臺灣關係法 誕生了。
40年來，它默默維繫著臺海的和平安全與臺美🇹🇼🇺🇸的緊密夥伴關係。
40年來，它向世人展現，建立在雙方共享利益、共同價值，以及堅持做對的事之共同意願💪，能有多麼穩健。
40年後的現在，隨著 #全球合作暨訓練架構、#印太區域保衛宗教自由公民社會對話、#印太民主治理諮商，以及和 #美國海外私人投資公司 更多合作的推展，我們一步步深化臺美各層面的合作交流🤝。
昨天，蔡總統與華府三大智庫舉行視訊會議，共同針對臺美關係、區域安全等重要議題交換意見的同時，美國聯邦眾院外交委員會也一致通過了 👩⚖️👨⚖️「#2019年臺灣保證法案」 和 「#重新確認美國對臺灣及對執行臺灣關係法之承諾」 決議案。
紀念「臺灣關係法」邁向不惑之年的今天，
我們有理由相信，臺美友好，還會更好❗️
