For me, the arts has always been about connection. The world can be a bit of a lonely place, and I feel that it can be very difficult to connect with other people. But there’s an instant connection in the arts, even if you’re strangers. You can be in a theatre, watching a play or a film, and have other people laughing or crying with you. You may not be friends, but that shared experience – the sense of a common humanity – I love that. I think that feeling will never go away.

I’m clearly terrible with history, and won’t be able to tell you all the Esplanade facts and all that, but I can tell you... I love the energy when I am there. Sooo many artists and audiences have passed through the doors of Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay and filled it with life. When it is crowded; throbbing with energy, when it is empty; many corners to sit and think- about future projects, about... anything. I love it in both its states. Ps. Consider checking out https://www.esplanade.com/mydurian/backstage-pass-with , take a tour around all those nooks and crannies w people who know it inside out!
