昨天影片提到foster the people的pumped up kicks 實際內容很黑暗，那今天多講一個！
Sting 史丁之前隸屬的樂團：Police有一首膾炙人口的歌曲「every breath you take」，大意大概是這樣：
「你不管做什麼事，去了哪裡，我都會望著你」
「你看不出來你屬於我嗎，你每走一步我的心就痛一點」
乍看之下很浪漫，但史丁講的是一個在實際生活裡對他造成過困擾的跟蹤狂，而不是多數人以為的愛慕情感。
而到今時今日，還有人拿這首歌來求婚，史丁本人則在好幾年前就放棄說明了。
看來每一套歌詞大家都有自己的解讀方式。

38年前風靡全球的抒情傑作Every Breath You Take, 想來是The Police最廣為人知的作品, 不落俗套的編曲手法, 默契十足的樂器配置, 透過Sting真情而低沉的聲線, 曲中流瀉的惆悵彷彿就是伸手可及.
可是這麼久以來, 大家都完全誤解了歌曲要表達的意境, 對這首可能是史上最被逆向解讀的作品, 原創作的Sting是這樣說的:
It sounds like a comforting love song. I didn't realise at the time how sinister it is. I think I was thinking of Big Brother, surveillance and control.
這完全不是對戀人一顰一笑都捨不得錯失的關注, Sting創作的原型是老大哥(Big Brother)險惡的監看與控制啊, 歌詞寫得再明白不過了, 尤其是最後反覆低吟的I'll be watching you, 才是歌曲要表達的核心. 了解真相後再重看那段原以為深情, 實則恐怖的寫照, 換個角度來臆度, 就一點也不浪漫了...
