Goodbye to another old shop, Shing Cheung watch shop 成昌表行, which has stood in Shanghai Street for 60 years.
Shing Cheung first started as a stair shop which sells and repairs watches. It was later moved to where it is located now in Shanghai street. You might not be able to find the latest Seiko, Citizen, Casio watches here, but a chance to find the earlier models! The owner of the shop, Mr. Ng, is already 83 year-old, but that’s not the reason why it is closing down soon. The landlord decided to take back the shop. Goodbye to this 60 year-old shop.
News said that it will be closed in late-December/ after all watches/ clocks were sold out. Anyone knows if it still opens?

Support small shops. It is not easy for old shops to survive in this fast-changing Hong Kong. But when they are gone, part of Hong Kong will be lost forever.
